The Venus Restaurant

Went for my birthday with all the family. Every aspect from the first drink in the bar to the final coffee of my 5 course meal were EXCEPTIONAL. The 12oz. Ribeye steak was the best I've eaten since my $45 steak in Caesar's Palace, Vegas, every mouthful melted in the mouth, so tender!!! The white table cloths, silver service & efficiency of service were all so good there are not enough superlatives to describe the whole experience 5* Testament to this is that all my family from 14 years to me 71 were all of the same opinion & would not hesitate to return! Well done Venus, terrific to still find somewhere serving food properly, WE'LL BE BACK!!

Characterful building. Car parking is limited. Access from the street to a path leading directly to the front door. When entering the property, this leads to a small but comfortable bar area. Unfortunately, the Guinness was off, but I had a super pint of theakstons pale ale. We also had a bottle of Malbec. Restaurant was light and airy and table ste nicely. Superb 3 course meal, plenty of choice on the menu. Unfortunately, the duck was not available. We had salmon and steak (rump and sirloin ), which were well presented and very enjoyably. The sirloin attracted a supplement. Deserts and liquor coffee were very good. The service was very good. Staff were polite and friendly. We are returning later in the month and hope for another thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Visited 07/01/24 for the first time for a family meal (Sunday lunch). Older style / traditional environment which was lovely, very helpful staff, the food was wonderful and amazing value for money. Table service, everything was hot, tasted great and served very well. I would highly recommend a visit. No complaints at all, drinks good value for money, background music not too loud. It was excellent.
