I visited The Castle Inn after my visit to the stunning Dirleton castle & gardens, looking for a nice, soothing meal. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is lovely and cozy. The food was not only beautifully presented, it tasted extraordinary. You can tell the kitchen loves what they are doing and have a passion for food. I can absolutely recommend visiting The Castle Inn if you are looking for a good meal.

Nice pub, good selection of food. We have been here a couple of times whilst on holiday. The Cullen & skink is delicious! My husband had the seafood platter which was lovely. Nice friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Out on a little cycle ride while staying at the yellocraig camp site, we came across the Castle Inn. Perfect timing for lunch so gave it a go. First impression was the really friendly welcome fom the two bar staff and a great selection of drinks. The food menu too is quite extensive with additional offers from the specials menu. I went for the venison burger with haggis and blue cheese. My wife went for the Irish stew.. (as you do when in Scotland..). Both meals were excellent.! Just one issue from me and that's the fact that the burgers are served on brioche buns. I do prefer a proper roll, but that's just my personal taste.. The fries were definitely the best I've had for some time, skins on and salt baked.. As we're here for a few more days, I think we'll pop back and try something else..!

We just managed to get dinner as we arrived at 7.40pm and last orders were 7.45pm which slightly surprised us considering it was a Saturday night but our food was fab-my husband's fish and chips looked beautiful and I enjoyed my scampi and chips. The desserts were fab too. Our room was lovely and spacious with a view across to the castle. Only slight downside was that they weren't doing breakfast but we weren't too bothered as we're not big eaters so our previous night's dinner kept us going along with a couple of biscuits and a cup of tea in the room in the morning. Very friendly service and enjoyable evening.

The Castle Inn is located in the beautiful village of Dirleton just on the edge of the very well maintained green. It has a superb menu, and a lovely selection of beers and wines. Food was served quickly, and was delicious. Staff were very friendly and very attentive. Great value for money.

I recently had the pleasure of filming at The Castle Inn in Dirleton, East Lothian and it surpassed all of my expectations. Located in the charming village of Dirleton, this 19th century coach house offers a truly picturesque setting, nestled between the seaside villages of Gullane and North Berwick. One of the highlights of this inn is its stunning view of historic Dirleton Castle, a 12th century stronghold that adds a touch of history and grandeur to the surroundings. In fact, the castle is so close that you can almost reach out and touch it from the inn. The rooms at The Castle Inn are incredibly comfortable, providing a cozy and relaxing retreat after a day of exploring the area. The decor is tastefully done, combining elements of traditional charm with modern amenities. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail and the thoughtful touches that made my time there extra special. The inn also boasts a function suite with a maximum capacity of 60 people, making it an ideal venue for special events or gatherings. Whether you're planning a wedding, a corporate function, or a private celebration, the staff at The Castle Inn will go above and beyond to ensure that everything runs smoothly. And then, there's the food. The award winning food at The Castle Inn is truly exceptional. From traditional Scottish dishes to international cuisine, the menu offers something for everyone. Each dish is expertly prepared using locally sourced ingredients, resulting in a dining experience that is both delicious and unforgettable. In addition to its comfortable rooms, function suite, and outstanding food, The Castle Inn is also a great base for exploring the stunning coastline of East Lothian. Whether you're a golf enthusiast or simply enjoy long walks on the beach, you'll be spoiled for choice in this area. The inn is conveniently located near several golf courses and beautiful beaches, allowing guests to take full advantage of everything this coastal region has to offer. Overall, I cannot recommend The Castle Inn enough. It truly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the charming and comfortable accommodation, to the excellent food and the stunning surroundings, this inn provided me with a memorable and enjoyable stay. If you're looking for a relaxing retreat in a beautiful setting, The Castle Inn in Dirleton is the perfect choice.
