The White Horse

My husband and I had a rare child free night out and are both really pleased we picked The White Horse. The food was absolutely delicious, pan-fried duck & a carbonara. Followed by a menu with an array of desserts we'd have happily chosen several from. I would also mention the impeccable service we received. Being a Tuesday evening there was only one server covering the restaurant and bar and he still made time to check in on everyone. Should we ever be in the area again, we'll definitely be coming back.

Oh My Goodness. I had braised cheeks. Every Morsel Was Delectable. So good that I even drank the gravy when the plate was empty. 10/10 I Highly recommend. The staff are sweet and helpful, the music wasn't too loud, a varied menu with Gluten free and vegan options and a great big car park! I'll be going back.

Two of us popped in one Saturday lunchtime, hoping we’d be able to get a bite to eat. Welcomed by the lady who was running both the bar and restaurant tables; who, was both welcoming and friendly (you had a small tattoo on your lower arm, I’m sorry I can’t remember your name!). We chose a table, sat for a short while until the nice lady came to take our drink order. Drinks arrived soon after and our food order was placed! Now, important to note, ‘homemade’ often means waiting longer than your usually expected time but no, our wait was very minimal, with our food served deliciously fresh and appetising. 😋😋 My ‘friend with benefits’ companion, chose a large glass of wine alongside a crayfish dish- both of which she thoroughly enjoyed. Myself, I chose the steak pie, (and a pint of real ale which was obviously well looked after before being pulled, and tasted great) which was absolutely delicious in its homemade warmed pastry case with plenty of gravy sauce included. The veggies were tasty and I’d say kind of farmhouse style in their serving, along with the mash which altogether went down perfectly!! Our plates were definitely empty when we had finished- very, very nice indeed. Would unreservedly and unequivocally recommend the White Horse; shall conclusively visit again for food and drinks Thank you Douglas Valentine
