Review Toby Carvery Dodworth Valley - Dodworth

My wife and I visit this Toby quite frequently. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Warm welcome on arrival, and special requests are catered for where possible. Carver Josh is friendly and informative, he slices the joints of meat with care making sure customers are happy with the meat/meats chosen. Food is plentiful with a good choice of vegetables. Roast potatoes, mash and potato & leek gratin really tasty. Server Donna is rarely still. Checking diners are happy with their meals, serving drinks, clearing and cleaning tables, finally dealing with bills. A mention to the other staff members too. All are Friendly, polite and professional, even during extremely busy days when the restaurant is full. ●●Just to add, make sure when using the car park you enter your registration carefully on entering the toby carvery. Even one number/letter entered incorrectly will result in a parking fine●● Andrew & Angela (table 1)

Went with my 89 year old disabled mum ( her first time) The lady that looked after us went above and beyond, her name is Donna and if Id have had any cash on me I would have left a big tip. Thank you Donna for your kindness and help with my mum x

My fault for not booking (forgot it was a bank holiday) so it took a little while to get seated. Was told 50 minutes, but the wait was maybe 10. I wouldn't recommend coming on a busy day, especially for individuals who are ND or find noise/busyness overwhelming. Can get very loud, especially with children. More details in the accessibility section. A server never came round to our table after being told there would be one, but I don't mind because I've been before and, again, it was busy. Tasty food as always and still not bad to say there was a little bit more of a raise in price with it being a bank holiday. Roughly £15 each (that's including one king-sized plate!) Photo looks messy and doesn't do it justice, but the food here is gorgeous. I'd love to go back again soon

Came today with my toddler & partner. The staff are wonderful. The young chef is very chatty & helpful. He asked me multiple times if I needed help or if I needed anything to tell him as he saw I was plating up mine and my daughters plates. Was very helpful with others that I saw too. The waitresses were also very smiley and kind, made sure that food was okay. The food was also lovely. My toddler definitely enjoyed the food! Edit: forgot to say that this was at 7:30-8pm at night so therefore staff will have been tired & food was still lovely and staff were still smiley and pleasant and as someone who’s been front of house before, it’s not easy! So you’ve got some good staff:)

Was Lovely and clean. Was greeted at the door and shown straight to our seats. The chef serving the meats was very lovely, jolly, polite. Food was lovely. Will definitely be going again.

Perfect start to the day with an all you can eat breakfast, plus unlimited coffee. For £9.48 I’ve had Yorkshire pud, bacon, sausage, fried eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, home made hash, two slices of bread, two pancakes with jam and two coffees. I could have also had several other items but that was my choice. I won’t need to eat until tonight now ha ha. Staff, cleanliness all good. I’ll be back.

We had a massive party of 20+ and throughout the whole evening the staff were extremely accommodating. They didn't rush us out the door like some other places might have and the food was amazing! As a Bristol boy trying Yorkshire puddings in Yorkshire for the first time I was not disappointed 👍 great grub and a lovely atmosphere 10/10

The online booking was so easy. We got there and was seated straight away. The chef was very pleasant. Food was hot enough. Staff great. BUT No cauliflower cheese on my roast is out of order :) Dropped a star because of this. Not sure why mac n cheese are an option on a roast but it was there!

Was absolutely beautiful. I haven’t been for years, I used to think it was a decent carvery (nice but as you’d expect from a typical carvery). But I have to say on this occasion I found the food to be loads better and like a tradition homemade sunday lunch. We will be visiting more often. They queues weren’t as bad for a fully booked restaurant too. I found previously it used to feel cramped and ‘busy’ but I had noticed the tables are better spaced and i felt comfortable

Breakfast carvery is not the best. Some items had been there too long and needed to be restocked, so not much choice. I will say that peppering the mushrooms was not a good idea as well as I nearly choked on them as they were that strong. I think we will give it a miss as this has been twice now that it's not been a good visit . Don't get me wrong, the main carvery is great and well worth the money but they need work on the Breakfasts
