I don't really want to tell anyone about this wonderful little place as I'm certain one day I won't be able to get in lol Had the most gorgeous lunch with my lovely mum. Stew and dumplings, just what you need on a cold day like today and finished with the caramel & baileys cake (to share). Absolutely gorgeous food and absolutely gorgeous staff, cannot recommend enough ❤️

Visited for cream tea for my dad's birthday, table reserved prior. Cream tea was delicious. Have visited many times now, and had a variety of items from the menu. Always faultless. Would recommend to book a table

Tried this place for the first time today for breakfast and will definitely be going back. Service was great and they were nice enough to make me a delicious vegan breakfast. Very nice decor inside and such friendly people. 5 star!

First trip to these tea rooms with a friend, so friendly and the menu was wonderful. My friend had the seasonal quiche and I had the steak sandwich. They were both perfect served with chips and even a glass of wine. Attentive staff, great toilets, perfect service and well worth every penny. I will be back soon.

Beautiful tearoom with delightful owners. This wonderful place had the warmest atmosphere I have experienced in a very long time. I would highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.

We went for a family catch up as I'd had several recommendations. We were all very impressed. We arrived outside what looked like a teeny shed but you enter the door & find a big beautiful open hall with gorgeous homely decor & a friendly welcome. They have excellent specials on a board plus lots to choose from on the menu including a lot of options for vegans of which we had 3! I had quiche & it was gorgeous,it came with side salad, delicious homemade coleslaw & new potatoes or chips. Others enjoyed toasties, fish finger sandwich, vegan breakfast, vegan sausage sandwich & vegan mozzarella & pesto toastie. Everyone enjoyed everything & a few couldn't resist the cake options. I had caramel brownie with cream & berries....... OMG it was to die for!!! Others tried a vegan brownie & loved it, plus a scone, all delicious!! I cannot rate this place highly enough, its quaint, homely, with stunning food, great service, nice personal touches & lovely staff. You genuinely could set up here in comfort eating & drinking & chatting for ages (well I could) its such a welcoming & comfy place & the quality of food is second to none! I loved it & cannot believe I haven't been before but am already planning my next visit! Only thing I'd say is to be aware afternoon tea is served from 2pm on case your early like us! Just means we HAVE to back later ... result!!!

Amazing cafe in the old village hall. Excellent choice of food, homemade cakes and ample portions. There is a real buzz about the place and at lunchtime many of the tables have reserved signs on them. We call in several times a year when revisiting the village of my childhood, and we are always remembered, made to feel welcome and are well fed and watered. Pity we don't live we closer. Highly recommended.

Always a lovely welcome from at the the Village Teapot and a warm happy ambiance. Delicious freshly home cooked food with homemade cakes that will make your mouth water when you see them! A good choice on the menu with breakfast dishes served until around 11. I lived my formative years in Arksey and spent many a time in the ‘church hall’, now the Village Teapot. Incredible transformation! Sarah and crew can feel proud of how they’ve developed this excellent facility! What a wonderful asset to the village, visited from folks far and near! Thankyou for another great welcome and good food!

What an amazing place!! The staff, especially the owner bent over backwards to make the day special. Nothing was too big that they didn’t help us. Much appreciated!! The afternoon tea was really fresh and well presented. I think we were all full to the brim with tea and coffee. I would highly recommend a visit!! Thank you again for being so accommodating.

Small but great, more room outside in nice weather. Run to a high standard. Staff excellent. Would not hesitate using this establishment many time in the future.

We went for a family gathering as we don’t get to meet up very often. We had a table reserved which was ready when we got there and the staff seemed lovely, drinks were very quick and we ordered our food. One of our party ordered the old school cheese on toast which stated it was superior, when this came it had chutney on it which it never stated on the menu (I would like to point out this was the only problem we had with our food for a party of 12) we politely asked the waitress if we could see the menu to double check what was stated - it definitely didn’t say the words chutney, just that there was a vegetarian option available which would not give the impression that chutney was included. When we asked if we could have a new dish without the chutney, the waitress said that people usually ask what makes it superior which she would then explain what it included, she said ‘obviously you should have asked what makes it superior’ - as an ex-waitress I was trained to never use the word obviously as you should never assume what the customer thinks. We then just asked he to take the meal away as it wouldn’t get eaten and they wouldn’t swap it. We carried on with the rest of our meals and when it came time to pay there was someone else serving us. This was the owner, who decided it was ok to shout at us in the middle of the tea room after we had paid fully (including for the meal that we hadn’t touched - which was not a problem) and state that she had been to a funeral (which was not relevant and if this has affected her so much that she thinks it’s ok to shout in the middle of her business then maybe she shouldn’t be at work), we didn’t shout back or make any argument all we did was ask if we could have the biscuits for the children’s meal which had been ordered. She shouted at us to leave while waving her hands towards the door to make us leave- this was in a room full of customers! We are very disappointed with the behaviour of the owner who may need to work on her customer service, or maybe shouldn’t be working while grieving. As a family this has put us off this establishment which had been visited many times before as smaller groups.

Friendly staff, quirky, homely furnishings, fab food and cakes. Sup a cuppa from a dainty china cup and saucer whilst enjoying the homemade food. Fish finger sandwich, quiche, old school cheese on toast and the lovely chips are top of my list. It’s my favourite place in Donny.

Was dubious when a friend I don't see very often suggested Arksey for a catch - up lunch, but can whole-heartedly recommend The Village Teapot after a fantastic lunch. Set in the old Church Hall the premises have been decorated and furnished with a lovely, simple "retro" feel. Not many places pull this look off well but they've got it just right here and it compliments the building beautifully. Nicely spaced tables, and simple, not too fussy décor/ tables mean it feels clean and fresh. The menu is simple, and on point, with sandwiches, salads, baked potatoes, quiche, ploughman's etc and of course Afternoon Tea. I love it! A classic example of doing a few things really well. Home-Baked ham sandwich ( with all the trimmings ) was beautiful: I'd be buying my ham from them if I could! Haven't tasted anything like it in years unless I made it myself. Cakes and Pastries were delicious: whoever's baking here is very talented. Service was prompt, to the point, friendly and professional. Our waitress understood totally when we needed a refill/ when we were talking and didnt want interrrupting. Absolutely no pressure to " hurry up" as you often feel in popular places. Lovely relaxed atmosphere of people enjoying really good food in really nice surroundings with great service. Cannot recommend this place highly enough: if I was rating it in " where top chefs eat " I'd put it in the " wish I'd opened it" category. Well done Ladies: I'll be back!

Went there with family for a birthday lunch. The food was delicious and home cooked. Great value for money too. I'm glad we reserved a table as it appears to be a popular spot for visitors and locals alike. Will definitely visit again...maybe for afternoon tea 😉
