Lovely corner pub a short walk from the railway station. Beautiful hanging basket display. The pub is in the CAMRA 2023 Good Beer Guide and also has a Cask Marque. Discount for card carrying CAMRA members. Madge used mine for a pint of Jolly Boys brewery bitter. Very good. Six real ales split between two bar areas so double check. Nice lounge and separate Pool area. A few TV's. The large rear car park is now a beer garden with lots of covered seating as well as open air seating...fine on a pleasant but grey August day. Music outside a bit loud for an old git like me. Even has a table tennis table outside to entertain the kids.
Tucked away, not far from the train station across from the health care centre is a council-run establishment.
Don't let the word "council" put you off though, it boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
One of the standout features of The Leopard is the food.
Unlike any spoons, this is very much a pub first, but the food outdoes the majority of places that specilise in food.
The pub's events calendar is another reason to love this place. Pub quizzes on Mondays and pool team gatherings on Tuesdays create an engaging environment for patrons. But what truly sets The Leopard apart are the diverse events that take place here. From live music nights to themed parties, there's always something exciting happening, ensuring that every visit is a unique experience.
The crowd it pulls in consists of a wonderful mix of individuals of all ages. It's a laid-back setting where people from various backgrounds come together, forming a diverse and approachable community. The patrons here are more than just regulars; they're friends, and the pub acts as a hub that connects people, fostering a sense of belonging.
In summary, The Leopard Pub is a true gem in the community. Its delightful food, engaging events, and diverse crowd make it a standout destination.
Nipped in for a quick drink to watch the final day of the premier league. Two games on decent screens. Friendly bar staff and the best stocked non alcohol fridge I’ve seen!
Didn’t eat but the food looked good and prices good value.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Had a great night watching 2 fab bands on Saturday night, please support these venues, they do fab food, and gave an outdoor heated area,
Called in for a pint with the husband this afternoon and decided to try the cheese burger. The meal costs £6:50. The burger was so juicy and the chips were home made and very tasty. Lovely lunch time meal.
Bonus....the staff are lovely too!
Well worth a visit
Great selection of real ales. Shame I was driving so could only have half a pint. Will make sure next time I stop over near by so can try some lovely ales.
Great range of beers. Constantly replenished real and craft ales. Staff are friendly and there's the awesome Becky! Great for local gigs. Great start for a night out, or in my case today, great start to a beer festival!!
