Such a fantastic country pub in a lovely location, with beautiful views! We stayed for 3 nights in September, the room was great, and the food was spot on. Loads of choice, local ingredients, and the Sunday roast was one of the best I’ve had. They had live music on Saturday night and gorgeous heated garden pods, making it a great place to come back to in the evening after a day exploring Dorset. The staff and owners were super friendly and welcoming, especially Henry the dog. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, and that’s if you don’t stay here, which I would highly recommend.

Went there twice on short holiday in Dorset. First time just for a drink and to admire the views- the location is idyllic and the garden lovely. They have a good selection of local ciders and proper beers (Otter and Cerne Abbas). We went back for Sunday lunch. Lovely tender roast beef with Yorkshires for me. My wife had the turkey which was also excellent. It’s traditional inside which I like (apart from the low door when you enter from the garden!). I gather it’s independently owned and run by a husband and wife who are friendly and ‘on it’. Very good pub!

Sunday roast. The quality of the roast was excellent, with seasonal vegetables and hot roast potatoes. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, and the food service staff smiled. The Sun shone and we ate out in the garden. Recommended.

A lovely pub in a majestic location. Enjoyed staying overnight in the campervan. The gardens are superb, as is the choice of local ciders and ales. The staff were very welcoming. The food was slightly basic and probably not great value for money (meze board for £25 could have done with a bit more bread for example) but nevertheless we enjoyed it. The pub would hugely benefit from employing a proper chef but I appreciate that is easier said than done at the moment. Overall would return and recommend as great place for a drink and light bite.

An impromptu trip to this beautiful pub to enjoy the evening sunshine in their stoning garden for a drink, which turned into dinner. The staff were welcoming and the service excellent. We just had pizzas and chips (2 teen-agers with us). We loved coming here under the previous management and it is still as good, and I would actually say the menu is slightly more family-friendly than before. Food was delicious and all got eaten. Will be back!

Fabulous few days away. The Spyway Inn is in glorious countryside about 3 miles from Bridport, and a 5-minute drive from the A35. The garden view is exceptional. The pub itself is full of nooks and crannies, set over 3 rooms. Louise and Dave looked after us wonderfully. We stayed in Eggardon Rest - one of the two rooms available. It was reasonably priced and included an excellent Continental Breakfast. Evening meals were mainly sharing platters, and various tapas. Very tasty and washed down with well-kept local ales! We were sorry to leave, and look forward to visiting again. Might even get to West Bay next time for fish and chips!

Came here twice, excellent for a drink ( Great selection of local ales and ciders) and came again for an evening 'sundowner'. Good music, food, service, and with a lovely view! A great gem of a pub in Dorset.

Spent a very pleasant evening at the Spyway. The setting is fabulous for a summer evening - glorious views from the garden. I've rated the rooms as 5 star although we didn't stay in them - the Spyway is part of the Brit Stops network so if you are signed up to it and have a camper/small motorhome (ours is 6m long) then you can stay overnight. We were too late to book into the quiz, which was packed, so along with friends we had the special Mexican dinner in the garden. Great food, great service. These guys are making a real go of it and have music early Saturday evening, guest ales and ciders, woodfired pizza, bbq, tapas and regular special menus. Go visit! You won't be disappointed. Thanks to Dave and Louise and the team for a great evening! We'll be back! PS - they're very dog friendly
