The food is as amazing as the staff and the atmosphere. One of are party was missing, So they boxed up a Sunday Roast dinner, to take-away.

Visited here with friends, all the staff are friendly. The food is reasonably priced and all freshly cooked and wholesome. I could not fault it. It is recommended to book. The place is dog friendly as well.

If it's simple, hearty, fill yourself to the diaphragm food .... Then this is the place for you! As is typical on our visits to National Trust properties, we found ourselves 'dropping in' on this true gem, not all that far from Thomas Hardy's Cottage. This establishment offers no frills (It's a working farm after all!) ..... But it promises, & delivers, a strong Sunday lunch, boasting all expected roast meats ..... Including VENISON & PHEASANT! If you 'survive' the main course ...... The desserts will certainly have you seeking a lie down to sleep off the generous portions. To add a further layer to the 'compliment cake'..... The staff are THE friendliest people one could wish to meet .... Let alone give you their time to serve up the delights of their family kitchen. I'm not usually to be found in Dorset .... But if ever I was to return, I'd definitely call in here again! Thank you .... For finishing off our holiday in fine style.

We went to the pine lodge for Sunday lunch I have to say it is the first restaurant that I’ve been to that I have enjoyed so much. We all ordered different meats and every one was so tender also there was a large selection of meats to choose from, I had the lamb which was beautiful. You can have a choice of meal sizes as well, small medium and large, and the staff were fantastic really friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. They also welcomed our little dachshund. It is now top of our list to eat out and will be returning soon.

Lovely cafe on a farm with spectacular views albeit not from the cafe. Traditional unfussy delicious food served pipping hot and amazing puds. Bring your own drinks but tap water, ice and glasses provided FOC. Fantastic staff.

Came across to this hidden gem when my friends and I were just trying to find a cafe to sit in and chat on a late Sunday afternoon. Lovely little place and seems they have a good selection of cakes. Ordered the tea room’s famous Dorset Apple cake which is superb and the Earl Grey tea comes in a nice large tea pot. Overall a very peaceful and lovely little place, good price and good food! Not to mention a friendly team of staff too Don’t miss that great view just opposite the tea room too!
