1846 Tavern And Restaurant

It was outside seating and there was a little wait which was fine since there was 7 of us. Staff was friendly and attentive, the food took a little while to come out but our waiter let us know right away and we were not in any hurry. The cheese platter was great and I love the raw bar. Excellent place to dine. It was a bit pricey but not more than New York and worth every penny.

Enjoyable atmosphere and super selection of local beers and ciders. We enjoyed a date night but could have seen a friendly hand out to watch a game. The duck and steak tips were cooked to perfection and we were only left wishing for dessert! Service was top notch, tables and dining room were clean and safe.

Stayed here for 3 nights out of season so it felt like we were the only ones here. The building is really cool, the original guesthouse dating back to 1846, with a quaint bar area and separate dining part. The room (north suite) was very clean and well appointed. The food was lush and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and courteous, even suggesting places to visit and planning a route for us. Definitely recommend stopping here, if not staying - you won't be disappointed.

Extremely overpriced for the portions you receive. We ordered takeout, and the quinoa salad with chicken (serving was just barely 2 cups... not exactly a dinner portion) turned out to be $30. Best part? The forgot to include the chicken. Buffalo wings had no flavor, were over cooked and ice cold. Shrimp was cooked perfectly for the kale salad, I’ll give them that. And the quinoa salad was delicious, but like I said, a ridiculously small amount for $30. French fries were nothing to write home about either.

Obviously, pre ski season, choices are limited. However, even if the ski season would be open I would highly recommend 1846 Tavern. Food was ready for pick up at the time stated on the order. It wasn’t ready when I walked in, only because the chef thought the greens were a little too wilted and he was preparing a brand new salad. I for one can very much appreciate this small thing, as it shows the chef takes pride in his work. We ordered the duck and chicken Caesar salad. Both were delicious and we would reorder without hesitation. We also very much appreciated the portion size as it was enough to fill us but we were not bloated afterwards. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come by for dine in!
