The Allotment

Really glad that I managed to find this place - it's a total gem. It's like somewhere you'd find in a totally happening city centre (no offence Dover). The reception we got was great, warm and friendly. The interior was modern and relaxing with a nice variety of seating both inside and through to the back there's a cracking outdoor area too. The menu was spot on, I opted for the haddock and chips and my colleague went for the steak. Both were amazing. The kitchen area is up front and open. The staff/management couldn't do enough to ensure we were happy. We'll be returning to Dover and definitely make this our go to restaurant.

A lovely meal in a clean and bright restaurant. It was their first day back and our family came for dinner after a windy day at Dover. The staff was friendly and navigated service with all the COVID guidelines. The summer salad with feta and pomegranate was a perfect starter and so well-balanced with flavor. We also had the prawns, which were a bit of work to get into, but well worth it. Kids enjoyed the kids menu while the adults had the bouillabaisse (good flavor and a generous portion of seafood!) and the venison (rich, delicious, comforting). Solid cup of coffee and tea to cap things off. We would come back.

Wow. This place is amazing. Every dish we had was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The drinks were great and the staff were so nice. The kitchen is in plain view and we saw every dish being served, all of it was so well presented and gave us food envy! Couldnt recommended this place enough!

Looking for GF and/or Vegan options in Dover? The Allotment was an amazing surprise, with excellent service, excellent menu, and superb preparation and food quality (for all preferences). Ambience is very nice; modern open concept in beautiful old structure. If the afternoon or evening is warm, you can enjoy your meal in the idyllic stone-walled private courtyard .
