Marmaris Turkish Restaurant

Bumped into this place on my visit to Dover. Looked at Google reviews gave me confidence to dine in here From the outside restaurant looks good, spacious and clean. Looking at the Menu, unfortunately the prices are similar to London, I assumed it will be little bit cheaper considering it's not the capital city. However price was not a decider, the bread and Humous was top quality. We ordered the Meal for 2. The food was top quality, nice juicy meat, seasoned and cooked very well, chilli sauce was perfect taste. The drinks are also a little pricey but not over the top. The service was very attentive helpful. The atmosphere is nice and bright, with some decor on the walls, the staff are friendly and do make sure they ask if everything is okay. Free 1 hour Parking outside does help make the visit easy. The biggest letdown for me was the attention to detail, the tables were very sticky, they look clean, however not sure what they clean it with, a decent anti bacterial cleaning spray should leave the tables nice and dry once wiped, but it was really annoying, to make that worse; the cutleries were also very sticky, one of the fork was too sticky I had to wash my hand to take the stickiness off. Napkins provided are very small and one put on a table per customer, really not enough, it's not a big deal as you can ask for more, but little details go a long way. Overall I would definitely recommend as the food was really nice, I would have happily given it 5/5 had it not been for state of table and cutleries.

Highly recommend this place! Really good value for your money, amazing flavours in all of it and great portion sizes. The chicken shish came with a decent sized portion of tender chicken, chips or rice, lots of cut up pitta (which was unlike any other pitta I've had) and a big serving of salad with dressing. The vegetarian Moussaka was lovely, a big portion and a decent price.

This is what Turkish food should taste like! We've eaten there before & also collected takeaways, which have always been delicious. Now they do delivery takeaways I don't think I'll ever use any other takeaway restaurant in Dover again! In my top 5 takeaways I've ever used they rank no1....no2, no3, no4 & no5! You can't really compare them to "kebab shops" as the difference is huge (in a good way!). They do a different sort of bread rather than pitta bread. It's still a flat bread but freshly made and delicious. I'd happily never have any other bread ever again if I could have this all the time. I never eat salads but their salads are fantastic & I have one each time. I can't praise them enough. Top notch food, fast & friendly service, helpful & polite. Thank you Mamaris, my life is now complete! 👍

Food exceeded my expectations. Portions were big and very generous. Fresh and full of flavour. The waiter was very attentive and the chef came and spoke with me. You can tell the chef enjoys what he is doing as he was always happy and started dancing while cooking and it was very busy. Staff catered to all my needs, and i am very picky with food and how i want it. Cannot reccomend this place enough. Its definately worth the travel to eat here.

Absolute perfection. Both me and my wife both agree its some of the freshest, healthiest and flavoursome food we've had in a good long time. There is a little bit of a wait but i dont feel its that much of problem considering the quality of the food and service. I could not recommend this place enough and we shall certainly be making making this a regular haunt in the future. Cant wait to come back.
