First time we’ve been here as my wife and I are new to the area, and I must say ***FANTASTIC*** The service was really good and the polite English girl was really efficient with our requests. All the other waiters / servers were very welcoming and personable. The food was great, and although I expected the Chicken Madras to have a fiery kick, the owner advised that they cook all their hotter dishes “one notch down” so the customer gets more flavour, which inevitably turned out to be true - Thank you to all and see you soon :)
Got a takeaway for 10 from this restaurant. The guy on the phone was very friendly and this was backed up with a wonderful welcome into the restaurant when we picked up our order as well as free drinks whilst we waited (though this wasn't long!). The food was reasonably priced, worked out to about £20 a head for starters, curry, naan and rice each so very reasonable. Quality and taste wise the food was terrific, authentic and very good all round. Brilliant meal, friendly and quick service, good price, will be returning I hope!

I've been coming to the Downham Tandoori for a few years now and I have never had a bad experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and always full of smiles, while the food is authentic, delicious and decently priced.
The bar is fully stocked with beer and spirits, and the recently updated wine list has something for everyone.
The restaurant was renovated in the autumn of 2017, so the interior is newly decorated with a clean and relaxing feel. They also extended into the shop next door which means getting a table is easier than before, although I still recommend booking in advance on a Friday or Saturday.
