Visited here for a Sunday lunch with friends. Lovely little local pub. Staff very friendly, and fantastic service. Locals at the bar also very friendly, creating a great atmosphere. All the food was delicious. And a good choice of drinks. Will definitely return again.

Just had a lovely meal here. The mushroom and asparagus risotto with warm bread was really tasty and the chocolate orange cheesecake divine. Reasonable price too. We will definitely be back

We stayed in the Highfield nearby , but fancied some real food , not the posh stuff in the hotel. We found The Old Star and it was also recommended by the lady in the hotel. It was really easy to find, and o street parking outside was easy too. We were greeted and seated straight away, though we did reserve a spot. The staff were all brilliant and very attentive. We got our drinks in no time and we picked our food from the menu. There was a few Vegetarian and vegan choices from the menu, which being Dairy intolerant sometimes helps. The food was fantastic, all well cooked , hot and enough to fill us both. The only downside is it is a pub, and it was quite noisy, there was also someone wanting to fight people in another room. All in all, we had a good night with great food. The price was very reasonable too.

Lovely old world pub, with excellent choice of beer and food. Service excellent and even more importantly with a smile. There is a large beer garden which when weather allows is a perfect retreat. Village pubs such as this with excellent food and beer. are becoming more and more difficult to find. Visit this one, and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

What a lovely pub 🍻 We stopped here whilst passing through on our way back from Flamborough, it's a traditional, rustic country pub, with a good selection of ale at the bar. The staff were accommodating and friendly. It's recommended to book, but we managed to get a table without booking. The food was really good, and the whole family enjoyed it. The waiting time was a bit slow, but again worth it for the quality coming out of the kitchen. Toilets were clean and tidy and access is good for all abilities. The garden area was quaint and in full sun around 3pm. Not enough benches with umbrellas, so we decided to sit inside. There were a lot of flies in the bar, due to the warm weather, and due to the sealed windows meant they congregated around us and our food. We didn't let it put us off and enjoyed the meal all the same! I'm sure we were just unlucky on our visit. Hence why I've ignored this and given the place an epic 5 star. We'll definitely visit again! With less flies around, we'd have had pudding! The crumble sounded great 💯 - until next time 😉

Lovely place with lovely staff. Food very good with plenty of seating either inside or outside. We are a group of car enthusiasts who visit lots of pubs and this is one of the good ones. Would recommend.

A good friendly atmosphere. Good spacious beer garden and good food. Dog friendly. Low ceiling, old world decor and rural surroundings. This village pub deserves frequent visits. Can't fault it as one of the best pubs for miles! Even serves real ales (3 of). Relishing Ossets White Rat at present.
