First time dining there last night. It has been a long time since I've enjoyed a meal so much. Wines are very reasonably priced most being under £20 a bottle. Starters very good. My wife had the lobster which was delicious, my sirloin steak was very well cooked, moist and accompanied by a fiery pepper sauce. All round a great experience.
Visited with family 4adults 2 children for Sunday lunch. 2 roast beefs (1 glutton free) 2 lambs 1 child's roast and 1 pasta. The clean plates testified to how nice the meal was. Staff were Very attentive and pleasant with it. Only negative was the coffee machine was out of order so we went home for one.
Prices are compatible with other local establishments. Quality excellent. We will be back to sample the evening menu
First visit to this new restaurant today for Sunday lunch. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we stepped over the threshold. Our reserved table was a bit poky and hard to access but they changed it to another table without us having to ask.
Wanting to leave space for pudding, we skipped starters and ordered the roast beef (served pink) with all the trimmings. We could hardly see the waitress when she brought our plates piled high with succulent Givendale beef, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast and mashed potatoes and lashings of gravy - plus a separate dish of fresh vegetables, horseradish sauce and extra gravy. I can honestly say it was the best roast dinner I have had in a long time. My companion was in full agreement. Our only problem now was that neither of us could manage a dessert. Never mind. Must remember to forego a meal or two before our next visit to this wonderful restaurant.
And no, I don't know the owners (since I'm praising them so highly) but there is so much mediocrity in the dining out experiences of Driffield and the East Riding that I am overjoyed for there to now be a high class establishment in our own lovely town. May I wish you much luck and happiness in your new venture.
