Bird Cage Grill

Horrid chips. I used to love Birdcage Grill, was a very regular customer and gave it 5 stars, but since it's been taken over the quality has dropped significantly AND the prices have gone up. I've eaten there 3 times since it's change in ownership and have been disappointed each time and will never eat there again, can't even cook chips properly and the batter is both burnt and undercooked at the same time. See pic of nasty chips. This is such a letdown as the food used to be delicious.

Stopped off at the fish and chip shop in Dudley town centre just newly refurbished looking very nice what can I eat. the staff suggested I eat in. had two pieces chicken and they're chips that large homemade and a cup of tea reasonably priced only downside taste of the oil overpowered the potato and chicken. 7 out of 10 did say to the staff that I think they need to check their oil which they thanked me for my feedback cup of tea hit the right spot . will I be going back yes definitely if change oil supplier .PS mind step down between restaurant can't believe that they refurbished and left a big step

Since changing from the birdcage chippy this place has gone downhill unfortunately, the breakfast I had was very greasy and the plate was running with oil from the eggs. The friendly atmosphere it used to have has completely gone.. Not sure why this place was taken over but I wish it hadn’t been as I used to be a regular but won’t be back again.

Ate in today and was not overly impressed...the plates were cold so the food chilled quickly... The batter on the fish was lovely however the fish belonged back in the sea... and didn't appear to be that fresh...teas were of a lukewarm description....Chips nice albeit cooler than would have enjoyed... Was looking forward to a nice lunch here...maybe another day...

I have to agree with the previous customer this place is not the same, I used to come for lunch 3-4 times a week whilst working in Dudley, the food is not nice anymore, the chips are too greasy and to big, these chips do not taste good and leave a after taste in your mouth . I have decided to stop coming here until something changes, and some of my work colleagues are saying the same . It was busy, but now your lucky to see a handle full of people during lunch hour rush, never mind afternoon. In regards to the way it looks it does need tidying up and refreshing. After all it is somewhere people are supposed to eat. Prices have gone up and food quality as gone down. Lucky I’m giving you 2 star rating.
