What a wonderful place to come for a coffee (and cake!) or lunch. Or both! Atmosphere, style, surroundings, views...you have it all. So many tempting options to eat - lots of veggie/vegan and gluten free choices too. And thank you for the super stocked shop. Very well done all. Highly recommend.

Really lovely meal on Saturday. Cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. Very impressed with vegan and gluten free options on menu. Lots of exciting new things try but also great to see the return of wide selection of much missed slabs of home made cakes. Patience need with new staff and menu and busy opening weekend. Food was well worth the wait. Surprising affordable for such a high standard. We had the Greenhouse plater, highly recommended.

The perfect venue I chose The Boathouse for an intimate wedding reception of 15 or so people, and the staff there delivered in spades with a delicious, high-quality buffet, carefully-considered playlist, and a beautifully lit and decorated atmosphere—with candles and fairy lights adorning seemingly every surface. The staff—who were on hand the entire time—were absolutely delightful, and were more than happy to pack the buffet into paper bags for us. They also decorated the wedding cake beautifully for me with the items we brought. I couldn’t recommend The Boathouse highly enough—thank you!

Best sausage sandwich to date, really lovely restaurant/cafe, staff were lovely and good chat. Prices are high, but it's good quality food and drinks. Toilets are immaculate. Only detractor is they have multiple individual loos, but have separated these into single-gender signs. Could easily all be marked as gender neutral as each is self-contained/single-person use. Some power sockets and free WiFi.

Really good food here and a shop with many high quality local produce and souvenirs. The place has an excellent view over the estuary and is right next to a local pub and places to park your motorhome overnight. I will definitely return for an overnighter with pint, then go here for brekkie or lunch. Delicious

Sat outside on a lovely warm day, protected from the breeze by the excellent glass screen. Chose the second day of the "Nith bore" which passed us as we were eating. Altogether a great lunch with wonderful food and wine. Very well worth a visit and we will be back.

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant with a great choice of dishes. I had the chilli halloumi wrap and sweet potato fries (big enough to be shared between 4). Service was excellent and the view of the estuary with the migrating geese was stunning.

WOW WOW WOW, what can I say about this amazing place? On our way to through Scotland whilst on holiday we visited the Boathouse. We found it simply by doing a Google search for local places to eat. On arrival you can not help but see the beautiful surroundings. Then when you go inside you see how amazingly clean this place is. The loos were 5star hotel standard(immaculate). THE FOOD I ordered a breakfast and it was out of this world. The quality of the food was without fail some of the best I’ve ever had. I assume it’s locally sourced. It was beautiful, we all eat everything and all commented how much we loved it. Every ingredient was of such a high standard of quality. THE STAFF the staff was amazingly friendly, helpful and really chatty, Donna (who’s the cheeky one) served us and gave us a great insight into the menu and was a real gem. I have spent the day trying to think of something negative to say because of all the good things I want to say about this place but for the life of my I can’t find anything negative to say. If you are in the area of this place and want something to eat then this is the place to go. If I could give you all 100 stars I would. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING
