Good for a base to visit the south of Scotland, nearby natural features, walking/cycling, trips to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Quiet, very clean, well furnished rooms. Highly recommend.
great location.. lovely staff & regulars . breakfast was nice & hot. we ordered dinner in the bar also.. hot big portions & well tasty. room was clean, with decent size bathroom. nothing was any trouble... we were staying for a wedding, asked at the bar if there was an iron & board.. was brought straight up to the room for us. defo worth the money & we will stay here again.... thanks for a lovely stay.
Just been to Ryan's Bar and Restaurant in The Townhouse. Lovely addition to the eateries in Dumfries. Great food, lovely service. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the near future.
Very clean. Staff friendly. meals very good and plenty on you plate. Only bad point not much choice of menu. Will go back again.
Ryan's bar was good food and brilliant service only a 2 min walk from my house, Would recommend to the local community had worse meals for more money in dumfries
Me and my mum have just had one of traditional roast beef dinners which were delivered last night,wow they were fantastic just the right portions and we found everything was delicious hope to book again next year we’ll done all merry Christmas to all.

Looks a bit old from the outside but inside was really nice; the room/suite our party booked was huge, clean and very comfy. All the staff were incredibly friendly throughout the stay and the breakfast a decent price. Only gripe was the lip before the kitchen/en suite area of our room that needs hazard tape or some kind of warning, as three of our group stubbed their toes on it
Great value for money. Clean warm rooms and lovely friendly welcome. Breakfast excellent too.
