Gidi Grill - Dundee

Well, I've been to Dundee loads and how I've missed this I don't know! But I'll 110% be going back, very nice atmosphere and decor, staff were very efficient and the food was some of the best food I've eaten in aaaages!!!! Mega well done Chef, presentation was super, food was delicious! I'd recommend the Spicy Mac n Cheese, sweet potato fries were really good too, it was all good!!

1st time visit with 2 friends on a busy Saturday evening, booking advised, we sat outside. Ordered a bottle of wine while we looked at the menu. Ordered calamari rings, jerk bbq pork belly.and hot pepper pot soup as our starters. Mains we had Caesar salad with added chicken. with rustic fries. Ital veg stew, and a meat basket. Our server was a very friendly chatty young man, he assisted us when we had to move inside when the rain started. Finished off our food inside, food was very good and well presented. We njoyed our visit.

The gidi grill offers up a mixed African/Carribbean influenced menu, resulting in tasty jerk chicken and items you just don't find elsewhere in Dundee... such as plantain. I've included a photo of this most recent meal here, which shows a completely empty plate. This should tell you just how tasty their food is and should explain everything you need to know. The service is very prompt with their carefully planned menu meaning food is very quick coming out. We were done in under an hour for a 2 course meal.

Dined here as part of a retirement lunch celebration. The staff were all lovely and couldnt do enough to help. The owner also visited our table and was extremely focused on getting our group photograph just right! We submitted an order in advance which was double checked on arrival and our meals arrived very quickly thereafter. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything they received and there were absolutely no issues raised. I had the meat basket meal and it was absolutely amazing! I had it with a jerk sauce and skinny fries! The basket was a bit of a pain so next time, I would ask for it to be served on a plate, but this didn't in any way detract from a most enjoyable dining experience! The steak was served perfectly cooked exactly to my preference, and the meal was extremely filling! I would very much recommend this establishment and suggest you give it a try as I very much doubt you will be disappointed!

came for our wedding dinner and the staff couldn't have been more lovely! we all had a variety of different food but the portion sizes are huge and from what i nicked off of my now husbands plate everything was delicious 😋 thank you to the chefs and the foh staff who made us feel so welcome and even brought out some complimentary prosecco for us😊 we'll definitely back and i can't thank you enough for making me and Mr. Budge's wedding day amazing!

So me and my work colleague attended here this evening served by Jaimi lea, served extremely quickly and we felt very welcomed, the atmosphere in this place is outstanding, I ordered a meat basket medium done the food was 10/10 I probably should've asked for an additional plate as it was served in a basket as it says but none the less outstanding, look forward to returning here again in future. Staff so friendly and the food is 10/10 awesome thanks guys 😀
