The place is quiet and has a warm atmosphere. I was told about the 20 minutes waiting time for the order to be ready at the time of placing the order. And it did take a good while given the place had a good footfall for a weekday.
I got one chicken biryani and the quantity justified the cost considering two ate one serving to be super full. Raitha and curry accompanied the biryani.

Researching Indian restaurants in Dundee I found an article recommending the top 5 and Rishi was on that list. It is a sound recommendation; delicious food, nice menu selection, friendly staff.
I also went to the other Indian restaurant listed as #1 and in my opinion Rishi's was the better option.

Excellent meal, lovely busy restaurant, friendly helpful and prompt staff. Will definitely go back, loads more I'd like to try but definitely would recommend all the dishes we had.

Lovely food here. The dosa's are out of this 🌎 we had the chicken dosa, masala dosa, and madras dosa.
Madras was spicy, masala not so spicy, and the chicken dosa was a meal in itself.
We had also ordered a chicken tikka biryani, a lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala and naan bread.
We were stuffed so took a doggy bag home.
We have three dogs, and we love them dearly, but they won't be getting any.

Absolutely great restaurant, all starters especially the cauliflower starter for the veggie amongst us was delicious. Portions are good size, friendly service, first Time here and although from Ayrshire we will definitely come back. Thank you for your hospitality.

Food was generally good but there was a sharp increase in price at one point. Staff should have the courtesy to mention this when placing an order immediately after you'd hiked up your prices. In fact, you should always mention the order total when it's being placed, not when it's being picked up.

Fantastic atmosphere in a really busy restaurant with first class service. Food was excellent but I couldn't finish it. Been a few times now and will be back again.

The best indian food ever I ever had in Scotland. Rarely you find proper indian food in Scotland, Rishis is one of its kind. The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ambiance was very good, felt like a restaurant in india. I want to visit again and again.

Had a wonderful experience on our last visit to Rishi’s Dundee restaurant with 6 of our friends last week, lovely food, excellent service and attentive staff. Seems the restaurant was busy that time and though we haven’t booked they managed to get us the table. Surprisingly they got to know about our friends birthday from our conversation and treated him with a birthday song and a piece of cake. Definitely will come back.
