Nicolls Bar & Restaurant

Had lunch here today, can't rate the staff and the food highly enough. Had Garlic Chicken on Skewers with rice and salad off the Specials Menu. Great portion and great quality food. Wife had steak baguette, again large portion and great quality food. Staff were terrific, attentive and kind. Can't ask anything more. Thanks Again.

Came across this place while on a day trip to Dundee and had late lunch early dinner. I had chicken salad with chips, partner had Cajun burger and my teenage son had nachos. Food was great, service was brilliant and the atmosphere was great. I wish Nicolls was in my home town. Also great pint of Tennants may I add!

Had a 21 year reunion upstairs last night...was absolutely delighted with the service from staff...main thing was, EVERYBODY got served their meal at the same time, piping hot and EXACTLY what we had ordered 2 weeks ago.. .so good we are already planning for next year! To the manager and staff you can all give yourselves a pat on the back...cause you all deserve it!!👏👏👏

Food is relatively good and server was extremely friendly, attentive and outgoing. Batter on the black pudding starter and the mushroom starter was a bit bland, seemed to lack a little seasoning and had an almost watery taste but otherwise it was well presented and I'd probably order again. Steak in the mixed grill didn't appear to be sirloin as advertised and may have been substituted with a minute steak, which was probably just as well as it definitely wasn't medium rare. Not really worth complaining about though as it was still very edible everything else was ok . Louisiana chicken must normally be a massive portion as the half portion that was served (on advice from the waitress) was still more than adequate.

Always a relaxed welcoming atmosphere here. My latest visit was a Christmas get together with my ex-work colleagues who I don't now see often since I retired. Unfortunately the girls had decided not to go for the Christmas menu which has to be ordered in advance. On asking the waitress however she very kindly offered me the Christmas menu anyway but I decided just to order from the normal menu which is always good anyway. So I had the curry with rice and naan. Most of the others had steak pie. All the meals went down a treat and with a few drinks the bill was very reasonable. A very nice evening and the food was lovely. Highly recommended.
