Auld Tram

What a find. Looked after so well by John who made me a fresh sandwich allowing for my dietary needs and a specialist coffee. Thank you John, this was at a very busy lunchtime , locals were happy to wait as they knew it was worth waiting in the queue as they return regularly. Great food n drink, superb service , thank you.

“How good could a £3.50 sandwich made inside an old tram be?” I hear you ask. Well, let me enlighten you. I had the pleasure of trying their Ham Hock Tramwich, and it was like that scene in Ratatouille where Remy eats the cheese and strawberry. But switch the strawberry with salty, tender ham chunks and the cheese with a delicious mustard mayonnaise topped with a sweet cabbage dressing. And then switch Remy with two plump loaves of white bread and you’ve got yourself a perfect sandwich. This is truly the best sandwich in Dundee, and might I say it, the entirety of Scotland. As the great Terminator once said, “I’ll be back” 😎

I've been grabbing a sandwich and the occasional soup here for about 9 years when I'm Dundee. I've had pretty much the whole menu and never had a bad sandwich, soup, pie or coffee from here yet. The sandwiches are excellent value and beat a pre packed sandwich any day John and the girls (apologies can't remember their names) are fantastic, great job as always guys
