The Lorne Bar

Excellent from the minute I walked in. Made to feel welcome. All staff very attentive. Nice and cold strongbow. Had haggis neaps and tatties, beautifully presented beautiful sauce. Have 2 more leisure days in Dunoon so will be back for lunch both days!!! On my next two visits food was excellent recommend mixed grill and cullen skink. Sadly now home

Was seated in the beer garden with our dog, water was provided for our dog which on a hot day was appreciated. The food was excellent but we did wait nearly 50 minutes for it, we were not advised of this wait...luckily we were not in a rush at all. My partner requires a gluten free diet and the staff were very knowledgeable as to what he could have on the menu...would definitely return if we are back in the area but will be mindful of the wait for the food.

Sat at the bar waiting for friends. Bar staff were very attentive and seated us as soon as our friends arrived. Our waiter appeared immediately and was observant and helpful. Various dishes ordered were fish and chips (huge portions!), leg of lamb with gravy, mash and veg (tender and delicious!) and lovely fresh desserts all at fair pricing. The Lorne is one of our favourite spots.

I had always wanted to try this place, so I took my daughter out for mother and daughter time . The restaurant is very clean and tidy. We were greeted by a lovely lady, but the only down fall she put us next to the main door, so it was very cold. The tables are quite small, and not very spacious. She gave us a run down of the lunchtime specials. My daughter wanted a milkshake, so she ordered the oreo one, I just had a diet Coke, and then we dived into the main. My daughter ordered a burger but she could customise it herself, I ordered the steak salad, and oh my the salad it's self was unbelievably good, to make it better around my pallete I added it with the steak which was perfectly cooked (well done for me) and tonsils didn't know what hit it,. The flavour was superb, especially for a well done steak. It never lost its flavour. If I wanted to be greedy, I would have ordered it again, it was that good, but it did fill me up. My daughter really enjoyed her burger but she did say next time she wanted the steak I had. I have since then been back, (with someone else) and got their salad, again it was out of this world. I honeslty can't hype this restaurant up enough. The food is really amazing, staff are very polite, friendly atmosphere.

The Lorne was lovely! Although a touch pricier than what I'm used to (we were visiting Dunoon), the food is worth it. Absolutely delicious. I had venison steak with mash, mushrooms and peppercorn sauce, I'd asked for the steak to be blue and oh my goodness it was! So impressed as most places try to pass of a rare as blue. The drink was no let down either as the have a huuuuuge selection and even do cocktails. The kids menu had a good selection and including a coloring page with a cup of crayons for the kids to share at the table. Good, friendly service and very accommodating considering we turned up an hour early for our booking!
