Really good food. We arrived at 1pm on a grey autumn day - parking was plentiful and the location is on the shore road so the views are brilliant. We popped in after walking around pucks glen (a few minutes away by car). The staff were really polite and helpful. We were a group of 2 adults, a 3 year old and a dog. Water bowls are available for dogs, restaurant is dog friendly, there is a separate kids menu (we went for nuggets and mash- she loved it!), I tried the T-bone steak that was well priced, plentiful and tested lovely. My partner tried the beef pie- again another great meal. We followed up with some deserts and were pleasantly surprised with the bill. We will definitely be returning

We love this place ❤ Food is so good!! The staff are brilliant and so helpful 👏 The Coylet Inn has the most stunning view of Loch Eck no matter the season. No wonder everyone stops in for a photo opportunity!! Dog friendly and a great cosy traditional scottish bar with a well stocked gantry and a fireplace. Best pub/Hotel near Dunoon.👌

This place was brilliant, we managed to get a room (the little lodge cabin thing) last minute (we had an issue with the place we booked on air bnb). The staff at the coylett were incredibly accomodating and nice. We also had tea there that night and the food was incredible i had a salt and chilli chicken burger which was the nicest burger ive ever had.

Some background: I was a much younger man, a US Navy Submariner. Our "Gold" Crew would fly to Glasgow and bus to Greenock to relieve the "Blue" Crew and take over operating the USS Alexander Hamilton SSBN 617 moored alongside a submarine tender off Greenock. So; after one particulary long day, I ventured to Coylet Inn on the advice of a friendly taxi driver whose name I wish I did not forget. The owners were named, George and Dorothy Addis. I stayed over night in a comfortable room and overslept their gracious wake up call, but made it back to Hamilton, nonetheless. The evening before, I ate a very nice diinner of fresh fish (trout?) which was caught but a few hours earlier in Loch Eck, situated across the street (A815). The finest thing about dinner was to watch greens being picked out of a nearby garden: at the time of picking, I did not know it was for my table! Fresh fish, fresh vegetable salad, excellent wine, and the wonderfully friendly and inviting personalities from George and Dorothy. This is many years ago and still holds a fondness in memory, particualry at evening's end when the friendly noisy singing had to end at bar's closing, though still elbow to elbow with people. A moment later, lights were turned way down, silence was enforced by many people shussing as a Constable's powerful spotlight shown through the shuttered windows and then disappeared. A more quiet revelry resumed, friendliness was unabated, whilst a moment or two later, through the back door entered the Constable whose bright spot light had previously lighted up some of the bar. - I had finished eating and moved to the bar. He removed his checker-banded hat, then sat down, right next to a startled and nervous me and ordered, "My usual, Pet. And give my friend here what ever pleases." His phrasing - unforgettable. Thank you George and Dorothy, and Constable, and those other fun people whose names are unknown, but whose affect is ever glowing.

Can't recommend this anymore! We had the choice of two inns near to where we were staying, one being a minutes walk and the other a 5 min drive. After a not so nice phone call with the inn closer to us we decided to book here instead and I couldn't have been happier. The staff were wonderful and helpful with booking and seating us when we arrived. Throughout the dinner they were always at hand with anything we needed and even brought us some extra Gravy before we even asked! The Inn itself was beautiful with wooden walls, fireplaces, stone walls, solid wooden tables, comfortable chairs, big widows and a wonderful view of the lake and mountain behind. It definitely has that old charm with a cozy feeling. For starters we had some Chinese Crispy Shredded Chicken with hot buffalo sauce. It came in good time even though we came at a busy time for them. It was hot and you could tell it was just out the fryer. The portion was great for a starter and got us ready for the rest of the meal to come! I'm sitting at home 3 hours away now and honestly would do anything for some more. 🤤 Mains we had was the Sunday roast. I had the chicken option and my partner Beef. Both came with Carrots, Baby Corn, Full Stem Broccoli, Roast Potatoes, Gravy and two Yorkshire Puddings. There was a great amount of food that left us satisfied, but room for dessert! I'm quite a gravy person so was just about to ask for more when the food had arrived, but they were already one step ahead and had some dropped of the at the table before I could even ask! It was the perfect Sunday roast to celebrate the nice weekend we had spent. Desserts! My partner had a Chocolate Fudge Cake and I had the Sticky Toffee pudding with chocolate ice cream. Sadly they had ran out of Vanilla ice cream, but there was plenty more options so no big deal. The portion, once again, was great and the food tasted amazing! Definitely not something bought at a shop then dished out like some other places. Once we had finished they came and collect the plates and offered to get us the bill. That came with mint chocolates and smiles. We payed the bill at the bar and headed over to the lake to sit and take some pictures. Overall I can't recommend this anymore. We will definitely be back the next time we are up! If you are like us trying to decide on where you will eat tonight then choose here! I know there is other options that might be closer, but trust me you won't regret this. Everything from the call the day before to walking out the door full and happy was great.

We had a family meal at the Coylet Inn. In total eight of us, some if whom had travelled hundreds of miles. The food was delicious and service excellent. The rapport with the staff was superb, a mixture of 21st century sassy Scottish humor and good old fashioned Scottish hospitality. The locat of the Inn on the banks of Loch Eck is superb, with awesome views over the Loch, just yards away as shown in the photos. All in a most excellent meal and a show casecof Scottish hospitality to our English guests. Thank you!

Can't recommend it highly enough. The highlight of our trip to Scotland. We liked it so much we booked a 2nd night. Took a double kayak for a stunning paddle on the loch. Mountain biking nearby. Ate in the restaurant twice, fab cocktails, menu choice but the outstanding venison special on 2nd night is something we'll remember for a long time. Locally caught, tenderly prepared and cooked along with veg and mustard mash. Wow. Thanks to all the team Fiona, Alicia, Kerry, Martin who were brilliant and made us so welcome and of course Carl and Sandra for running a premises with such care and attention to detail, clearly years of experience. Our dog Dougal loved it too and was made equally welcome! Perfect location for exploring this beautiful area of Scotland. We will be back. Ged and Georgia.
