Akarsu Turkish Restaurant & Grill - Durham - Photo album

Had the lunch offer, which included starter, main course and a drink. It was a delicious experience. Good size portions, piping hot and full of flavours. Chicken shish was one of the best I eaten so far. The venue is clean and modern and the lady who looked after us was friendly and attentive to our
They had the best lamb shanks I ever tried! Extremely flavourful and cooked to perfection. I could have easily ate several portions myself. That's how good it was. Will come back to try some of their other options as everything else looked really nice as well. The staff was helpful, and the place it
Great location, we had a table with views over the river, which was nice. Menu is extensive, and the food is delicious. Service is great, albeit we had an extended wait for our table despite booking. However, this wasn't a major issue for us, and we were still served with drinks whilst we waited.
Loved it. We hadn't booked but got a table no problem. Excellent service, great lunch deal. Food was delicious, hard to find good Turkish restaurants so this was a great find.
Like a prophet, my father asked during our visit to Durham "what are those red letters across the river?" as we had a coffee. His eyes didn't dart off of it as we crossed the Wear in the rain; his mind didn't wander as we spent 4 hours in the morning around Durham's centre. Turned out to be the fami
This is a real gem of a restaurant. It's right next to the river with stunning views. The food was delicious. We had cold meze to start and then the meat platter for mains. The portions are huge so make sure you are hungry! The staff are so lovely too. We would definitely visit again.
We each got the 13.95£, 2 starter and 1 main deal. Wish we could finish it all! The Guvec Casserole is good on the stomach and palate.😋
Visiting Durham today and booked a table for 2 at Akarsu and we were so pleased with our choice of venue to eat. The service was first class, and the food was astounding. We gad the hot Mezze platter for 2 to start and the Tavuk Chicken Shish for our main and it was all incredible, I cannot recommen
We ate several times at the old location and since they moved we wanted to give it another go. Good was just as good but they seem to have trimmed down the lunchtime menu and added a couple of new items too. I had the kofte and my wife the halloumi wrap, both were delicious.
Friendly Turkish restaurant with a really lovely vibe just by the bridge. We had a mixed seafood dish - see pic (one I hadn't seen in a Turkish place before) and so gave it a go. Delicious.
The food is excellent and very tasty. The decor and surroundings are great too. The only slight niggle was the service, while the staff were very efficient they didn't really engage with you and weren't very happy or welcoming. So a nice place just lacking a bit in the experience and atmosphere.
The food here was really good. I’ve eaten a lot of Turkish food and this has to be some of the best in the UK. The meat was succulent and flavoured well, the sauces were perfectly seasoned, and the portions were generous. Would definitely eat here again.
Food was delicious. Lovely and fresh. Very friendly and courteous staff. I'd definitely go back!
Great food, excellent service. This small place packs a ton of taste and an unparalleled level of service for its customers. Enjoyed the food. Will come back. The only thing which wasn’t up to the mark was their Baklava. So avoid this dessert.
We visited on a Monday evening. Didn't book but luckily got a table. The restaurant was full, even on a Monday, a good sign! The food was gorgeous, I had a mixed grill and my partner had the Lamb Moussaka. Both gorgeous. We can definitely recommend this family run restaurant and will visit again whe
Great food. Had the Guvac which was delicious. Will definitely return.
We had a lovely time! The waiter was really nice, friendly but not to much nor pushy. Food was so tasty and well done! Good, big portions and good value! Definitely the best Turkish that we had in Durham
Absolutely gorgeous food and friendly staff. Expansive menu with couple of Turkish wines and lots of vegetarian options. We also had a table by the window and it was perfect for people-watching. Highly recommended!!!
