The food is always excellent, matched by the service, with welcoming and friendly staff on hand to make sure your visit is always memorable. We had a great meal. Two people in our group were gluten free and there was a very good choice of dishes for them. The food tasted wonderful and the portions were very generous. We also had cocktails and they were very nice. A excellent meal in a beautiful place.

Amazing food, interior was absolutely out of this world. There was outdoor sitting with beautiful fire pits but wasn't weather permitted at the time. I have Pad Thai at most Asian cuisines and this was by far one of the best I have ever had.

Love this restaurant, pity I can't get as often as I would like!! Excellent food, never had a bad meal. The staff are very helpful & friendly and always make you welcome.
Very popular & can get quite busy at times so it's always a good idea to book your table.

Lovely food and fairly nice setting. Long wait for service. Had to remind staff of order for wine after waiting quarter of an hour for it. Had to ask for water. Restaurant about 1/4 full but service slow and inattentive - possibly due to the fact that two staff were doing all the work while another two sat behind our table chatting the whole time. From their conversation I had assumed they were other diners until my daughter pointed out that the two blond girls chatting behind me were actually staff. The 10% service fee slipped in on the bill was somewhat galling; to their credit they did point it out and didn't bat an eyelid when I said I'd prefer not to tip tonight.

Best meal out I’ve had in a long time! Food was really good, especially the starters. Seemed quite expensive but you get huge portions. Staff were all really great. Would definitely recommend.

Loved this place, great decor, good service and the food was outstanding. I opted for dumplings and pork skewers and no main, it was fabulous.
Will definitely come here again, 100% recommended.

Went here last week and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff are top notch. Our starter was a mixed vegetable spring roll which wasn't amazing but the rest of the food was so tasty and not crazy expensive. Would definitely recommend.

This is a popular restaurant, frequented by a wide range of patrons. Luckily, when we turned up without booking there was still a table available. Most tables are inside, with a handful under a covered & mostly enclosed section. I'd guess use of them depends on the weather.
The menu was nicely varied, without overdoing it. All the dishes we ordered were well presented and the quality was spot on. We also tried some of their cocktails (including alcohol free ones) & they were also great.
Staff were welcoming and friendly. Only thing I'd say us the music was a bit loud, which competed at times with conversation. Would happily go back for more great food.

Busy and worth booking but rewarded by the best Asian food. Lovely staff and great service. The food was amazing and had a new twist on each dish. The crispy chilli beef was succulent and well cooked without being chewy. Would also recommend the chicken Polynesian (sweet and sour stir fry) dish. The cocktail/mocktail menu was extensive. The blue lagoon was gorgeous.
We sat in the outer area which was quieter than inside. This was pleasant until people smoked just outside the windows or the car parked alongside the window ran his engine. Overall this didn’t spoil the great experience and would still recommend it.

Loved our time here. The decor, ambiance inside, and in the bamboo garden were delightful. Staff were very attentive and the quality of the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, the spicy food was just too spicy even when it said it's spice level was 1/3. My husband who is a fan of hot food agreed it was overly spicy for a Thai green curry.

Excellent noodle and curry dishes and often quite fast after order too. If a little on the pricey side, still very filling with good portions. Service sometimes feels a little rushed and impersonal. The inside area is very atmospheric and nice to eat.

We arrived at 6:30pm on a Wednesday, we had booked ahead and our table was ready and waiting. Although the restaurant was busy the staff were really attentive without being in your face and everything we ordered arrived in a timely fashion and we were allowed as much time as we needed to eat. The food was as, it has always been, fantastic, it looks great, tastes great and you get good portion sizes. If you are visiting Durham this is definitely a place you should consider visiting to eat.

I'll start with the positive. The food was extremely nice lots of flavour and a good choice on the menu. The seats were really comfortable and the inside layout was very relaxing, I especially liked the pink plant lookalike on the ceiling with lights. The staff were very friendly and polite. What I didn't enjoy. My food was around 10 minutes late after everyone else had there's, I felt I was surrounded by snobs people who think they better than everyone maybe it's because I'm not used to these places. We got a warning for being too loud. And you only get a 2 hour slot. I thought the price was too much. The staff asked for a service charge at the end which I didn't mind paying but that kind of thing isn't normal around England extra £6 on the bill for doing their job. The drinks looked nice but again well over priced.
I am glad I have tried Zen but unfortunately i probably will not be returning.

One of the best Thai restaurant in the UK. The food was just as authentic as it could when outside the territory. All dishes are flavorful and delicious. The price was reasonable too.
Plus, the staffs were very attentive and friendly.
Can’t wait to go back.

Zen is such a beautiful Thai restaurant, inside and out the decor is really something.
Food and service was great as you'd expect and the staff were really polite and friendly.
I will definitely be visiting here again and maybe it will take the top spot as my favourite restaurant.
They have options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free. There is paid street parking nearby also.

After a day watching football I fancied an Aisian cuisine as always. Zen was recommended to me by my friend and his fiancé. Well I have no doubt in my mind I shall definitely be returning, the food was exquisite. The staff were superb and happy to seat me by myself without a reservation made.

Perfect restaurant for celebrations the best Thai restaurant in Durham county plz do ask for Halal options before you order as sometimes they got Meat Halal sometime chicken and sometimes both if your lucky However theres a lot of other Veg and seafood options too, My fav is Prawn star and Tum Yum soup.
