Relatively small services in comparison to others. None the less perfect place for a quick pit stop. Located a short distance from the A1(M). Overall a nice area to take a break, a nice place to stop to fuel-up or have a bite to eat & good coffee. Clean place, amenities well looked after, friendly & helpful staff.
Roadchef are my fave Motorway services in the UK, Durham is top 3.
Typical North East friendly staff, car park and grass so clean you could picnic on it. Staff inside so nice and the building is so clean.
It’s a fantastic Roachef brand experience with the best staff 🫶
Brilliant little hotel. Clean rooms, crispy clean sheets and towels, clean bathroom . Lovely ladies at the reception, very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of field area for our dog to have a sniff around and a dog poo bin. If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! It’s 6 out of 5 or 11 out of 10 stars ⭐️! The hotel itself is a little tired but couldn’t fault staff in anything. We had very comfortable stay.
Thank you Grace & Catherine (gave us pointers where to visit), Tracy? ( I’m rubbish with names) thanks for the village names to look at, the manager lady with short, white hair and the lady we had on last night 2nd-3rd August ‘23. Brilliant 🤩 Thank you 😊
Great Services, with helpful staff.
Located just by the A1 with a few places to eat, including McDonalds and Costa.
Parking is free for 2 hours.
There needs to be more electric car charging points.
Very clean and decently laid out. Approach slowly or you will miss the turning for the car park and have to filter thru the maccys drivethrough or drive right round, out and back in.
We use the McDonald's at these services on a regular basis, friendly and helpful staff with great food and coffees. Can get busy at times!
Now there is more parking, it's much better. It could do with better food choices than just Costa or McDonalds but it is a small place so I guess there's only so much you can fit in.
ATTENTION VEGANS
If you're vegan there's a vegan bakery just 3mins away
It's called Honeymans of Bowburn
They've got a huge selection of pastries, fresh bread, coffee, tea
They know they have got you if you need to get anything, some prices were ridiculous, but that's the price of convenience to strangers in the area I guess, they did have T-shirts with patterns and pens for kid's too colour in which was nice, but not as cheap as I would have liked, so it was nice to see something different in such places.
Stopped for a coffee at mcdonald's stood at counter a good 5mins before I was asked what order I was collecting not worth it latte was more water than milk avoid this place.
