The restaurant is very welcoming and staff are very approachable and helpful. The building is well maintained, clean and tidy.
The food was very nice, however I'm sure the portions have shrunk since my last visit😞
Still, a lovely evening out, in a great location with lovely views. Very much worth a visit if you haven't been before.
A great menu for steak and sea food lovers.
Once again a beautiful meal! I had the burger for main then chocolate & raspberry tart for dessert. Both absolutely delicious. My oh had the ribeye steak adding prawns to make it surf and turf for main which was cooked to perfection. Then the sundae for dessert. The service, presentation and quality of the food outstanding.
We were staying over for the North run and decided to eat dinner here. Overall it was an excellent experience. The food was amazing and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Our orders did take a while to come out however this was due to staffing and to be fair we were so deep in conversation with our friends it didn't really matter.
Good portions and very tasty. The staff are lovely and the location is great, I had a beef roast, halloumi fries, sticky toffee pudding. Will return for the weekly menu.

Walked in without a booking and were able to be seated straight away, even though there was a few people in. We ordered a starter of olives and bread to share, then I had the Rib N Reef burger, my husband had rack of ribs, then I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. All food arrived in a timely fashion and well presented and was very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the fries, as they were lovely and crispy without being greasy . The bill was cheaper than my husband had expected, so good value. You can tell it's a new place, with a new team, as some of the staff are a little less confident/more nervous than others, but everyone was friendly and polite, and it's just a matter of time of everyone getting familiar with the role and routines. The gentleman who showed us to our table said he would be our waiter, but we never were served by him again and were actually served by 3 or 4 members of staff, rather than one specific. We still left a tip, which apparently gets shared amongst the team, which was good to know with having been served by a few staff. The restaurant decor is pleasant and modern. We will definitely go back and look forward to seeing the team members having grown in confidence.
High quality seafood situated with a lovely view of the River Wear. The sharing seafood platter is a must for seafood lovers since it more or less contains many seafood dishes in the menu at small portions. I would have liked more than one slice of sourdough bread given the amount of seafood, and also the portion of the crayfish cocktail was relatively too much even for 2 people, but this is minor criticism
Visited Rib N Reef for the first time on Monday 20th June for lunch and it was absolutely amazing. We will definitely be back. The food was delicious and the service from the man who works there was just fantastic, he was so friendly and so helpful
I’d give five stars to the amazing service but three or four to the taste. Not the best restaurant I’ve been to, and the seasoning is sometimes way too generous. But anyway, the price is reasonable and again, service is amazing, so do recommend

Need to go back and visit again in the evening, was very quiet when we visited for a late lunch. The staff were lovely, the food was really good, would recommend.
