Delicious home baked cakes in friendly informal atmosphere. We ate at outside table with magnificent trees for company. Just perfect for afternoon tea.

Fantastic food, coffee, cakes and service. Hidden away in Uley, this café is really worth a visit. We went three times over three days, and would have gone more but it's closed Sunday-Tuesday. We tried their scones (generous clotted cream portions, yey!), cakes (lemon mint sponge cake and salted caramel cheesecake, both delicious) and lunch options (Buddha bowl with homemade falafel and chicken Caesar salad, both excellent). In addition, on our final visit to buy take away cakes a few minutes before their closing time, they insisted their last two scones were available, which they had clearly set aside to take home. What lovely people!

Spoilt for choice here. In the end I had the banoffee tart, which was gorgeous. My friend had a vegetarian hash with beetroot, which she said was delicious. Really nice staff and lovely, quirky outdoor seating.

Delicious food, which was served quickly (even when we showed up at lunch time with a large group). Very friendly, casual and accommodating staff. Had breakfast here one day and lunch another, the quality was consistent across both. Definitely recommend it.

Lovely smoked salmon potato hash, millionaires shortbread, and coffee today. All under the cover of their gazebos.

Lovely friendly local cafe with homemade soups and cakes. We enjoyed a breakfast of poached eggs on toast and avocado and eggs. The cafe works alongside local arts centre so has a very creative atmosphere.

Fabulous breakfast, and really nice coffee. Brought the cake home, well, it looked good, so enjoyed it at leisure later! We will be back! Thanks.

The food is generally great. DEFINITELY try the Eggs Benedict with hand-sliced local ham... it's not cheap, but it's oh so worth it. Pleasant surroundings and even-more-pleasant staff make The Vestry a great stop-off point. It's dog-friendly too!
For me, best enjoyed either outside in the rare patches of decent weather we get these days, or inside huddling over something hot and sinful during a quiet winter's afternoon. The free wifi is a plus, too, and this isn't a bad spot at all for "working from home", although you'll want to get a feel for when the less-busy periods are: it's a tad prone to get infested by retirees with dodgy hearing TALKING LIKE THIS ABOUT OUR MILDRED AND OH ISN'T HER LATEST QUITE THE CATCH... you get the idea. Within about 50 yards, usually.

I only had a coffee here but it tasted lovely and the cakes looked delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive, being a Saturday it was probably busier than usual but tables were limited.
