We went for Sunday lunch, the food itself was fantastic, I had beef, lovely and tender, with a few roasters, stuffing, yorkshire and one parsnip (disappointing as it was very nice and I could've polished off a few more of those) it was rescued tho, by plenty of additional veg and roasters brought out in "help yourself" dishes alongside gravy boats, we were in a party of 30, so they coped very well, my girls had chicken, which again was very tender and plentiful. My reason for a 4 star, as it was slightly tarnished by the flat coke, I was under the impression this was from a bottle, not on tap (I had a Haze which was fine, my good wife had the flat coke) but I also heard it has recently changed hands, so they may well be in the process of upgrading said bottled drink, it used to be a drinkers pub, but are now pushing for a "foodie" type joint, on that basis, the food was excellent and we will return!

Roast dinner - large group. Excellent quality food nicely presented. The chef and the friendly lady behind the bar went out of their way to make sure we were all happy. Good value for money, smart decor and relaxed atmosphere. Decent choice behind the bar on tap/spirits. All in all cracking job, would recommend.

Have been a few time and the food is great at very reasonable prices. Latest trip was for father's day and the full roast dinner was fantastic. Even though is was busy the service was great and the food as good as ever. As a coeliac I even got a full roast dinner as I had a gluten free yorkshire pudding and also seoparate gluten free cauliflower cheese - fantastic! Believe me this is often not the case with most places just removing the gluten containing items from my meal. Well done chef!

Looks newly renovated, and has been done really nicely. Food for the price was excellent! Good range of Ciabattas which come with chips and a decent salad, light meals and mains. Really good range of drinks too. Bath and St Austell beers. Service wikl undoubtedly become a little slicker... that's not aimed at the lovely lady behind the bar, but it was just her largely. Anyway, not enough to start dropping a star - and look forward to going back.

First time to this place last Sunday for lunch. What a find. Wish I’d been here before. Nice decor, friendly and efficient service ( nothing was too much trouble) all with a smile. The real triumph was the food. Perfectly cooked roast beef and veg and a gorgeous passion fruit cheese cake. Delicious. Thank you so much, we’ll be back.
