The Ship was our wedding venue on April 27th 2018 and we booked all but one of their beautiful bespoke bedrooms. Our stay was amazing and all our needs needs were catered for by the lovely team of people who work there. We married in the small St Peters St Paul’s church opposite and then a champagne toast in the Ships enterance hall and bar while listening to live singing and music by the 2 of harps. Dinner was in the private dining room that staff had dressed with our table decorations which looked beautiful. Dinner was a three course meal which all our guests said was delicious ,thank you to the chef for catering for individual dietary requirements and beautifully presented food. Paul and I had a perfect day and stay at the Ship the service we received was excellent and the staff could not have done enough for us . We would highly recommend the Ship for small weddings who want the personal touch with the convenience of a beautiful place to stay . Thank you Lisa ,James ,Jessica and team for making our day so special and a precious memory.
Me, family and friends are a regular here at my old local pub! Definitely worth the drive if your after a lovely pub with great atmosphere, great food and a friendly homely vibe.
Always a warm welcome and staff are lovely.
Have booked again for afternoon tea for a mates baby shower and I’m sure I’ll be back before then with family and friends.
Book for any occasion you won’t be disappointed
Booked a table for 6pm on a Tuesday evening. Service, food and atmosphere was excellent. Good variety on the menu and specials. Kids menu was also good with decent sized portions. Fully recommend this place and will be back soon.
Have visited twice now and both times have been left satisfied, a nice variety to choose from on the menu and some great specials also available, had to wait a little longer than what we are used to for the food but I put that down to the kitchen staff making sure everything is perfect which it has been, all staff very friendly and would definitely recommend this restaurant 👍🏼
Fantastic food, great service & friendly staff with good knowledge of the menu & locally sourced beers, etc. Would highly recommend.
Thank you to the staff at The Ship Inn for a fabulous evening yesterday. Twelve friends, some of whom had travelled some distance to be with us had a wonderful meal, prepared and served so professionally. We all had an excellent evening in a lovely ambience. You must be proud of your young team of kitchen and waiting staff. We were so impressed.
Fist time in here,it was spot on best food around. We had the Beef roast dinner, all real veg no frozen stuff, lots of meat and the gravy wow i wanted to drink it :) Then i made room for a pudding, homemade cheesecake which was sublime . Staff were very nice, Had a nice feel to the place. We will be back soon and thoroughly recommended. All in all Outstanding.
Had been meaning to come here for a while now after seeing the positive feedback. We were not disappointed, we both had the roast beef, it was perfect. More expensive than where we normally go when we are down on the Marsh, but the surroundings and atmosphere were worth the difference. The menus looked very varied, can’t wait to come back
Fantastic staff, friendly and helpful, made a nice change to be asked if wanted break between main course n pudding instead of the usual 'get em in kick em out get others in' attitude that seems to be the norm these days. Food was amazing and the place looks top after the refurb, highly recommended 👍🏻🍻
The family and I would like to thank the staff last night for making our meal a happy experience. Congratulations to the chef for the lovely food.
Had a lovely meal there last night with my family. Had never eaten there before, and was very impressed with the food and the service. Will definitely be back.
What an lovely restaurant/pub. Refurb makes it look nice and modern inside. Great service and food was amazing. Very much recommend for anyone to visit, wide range of food options and a changing specials board.
Have just come back from one of the loveliest meals we have had for a long time. The young man who greeted us was so nice and attentive and the waitress was lovely. The food was absolutely great. My granddaughter felt unwell so they put the food for her and her mum in plastic boxes for us to take away.We would definitely go there again
Lovely place, lovely food with nice clean rooms. We stayed in the seaside suite which was lovely and spacious! Staff were lovely and welcoming! Will definitely visit again and definitely recommend to all my friends and family!! Had a lovely stay 💖😊
Didn't stay here, but we had a good meal in the restaurant where there was a pleasant, friendly atmosphere. The 2 young women worked incredibly hard at making sure we were welcome.
Booked a table here the other night for 7, very friendly staff, nice interior, food was really nice, would recommend if you're looking for somewhere to go
Great cheerful welcome. Got checked in and taken to room, very nice indeed. Nice hot powerful shower, tea, bottled water and biccies. Food was excellent as was the beer. Good night's sleep followed by a full English. Couldn't fault it.
You need to book ahead to eat here, it gets very busy. We ate outside, fortunately it was an evening when the weather was great. The food was good though a little overpriced.
After having driven past this too many times one evening we decided to have dinner out on a Tuesday.
Well, all I can is that if you don’t stop for food you have missed out.
Lovely food , hot and reasonably priced.
Courteous young man served us which made such a difference compared to other places when younger staff lack customer service and respect for their patrons.
So if you are in the area I RECOMMEND HIGHLY the Ship Inn for a lovely meal.
Lovely pub between hythe and dymchurch. Dog friendly. Nice big garden with plenty of tables. Reasonably priced. Will visit again.
Went to a triple birthday celebration over a weekend and our relatives booked us into the Ship Inn. Very comfortable room, very friendly helpful staff and a great Sunday breakfast.
Lovely historic building. Helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautifully prepared and presented dinner and breakfast. The room (Room 1) was large, spacious and spotlessly clean. Probably one of the best hotel showers, ever!
The whole place was a credit to the owners and staff.
We can’t recommend it highly enough. We shall certainly be visiting again.
Special thanks to Connor, Megan and the team.
Great food and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend the seafood platter
Great meal, the Christmas dinner was lovely, really nice and great value for money. Very large portions of dinner. The Turkey was lovely and the stuffing was so tasty and so much there. The pudding was lovely the Apple crumble and cinnamon really tasty and such a large portion. The staff were lovely and so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was great, would definitely recommend it to anyone. Would definitely go back.
Not a bad little place, staff were pleasant and professional, little bit pricy in my view, but otherwise not a bad visit.!
We did not stay here.
Had a lovely seafood platter lunch for lunch.
Staff were very hospitable.
Very pleasant inn, lovely decor and atmosphere. Staff friendly and attentive. Menu looked lovely but did not stay to eat as we were on a property viewing but hope it will be our local inn. Will definitely return to eat.
Great pub, best in the area.
Nicely laid out on the inside with lots of room if you go with a group or just want a quiet drink. Staff are friendly and welcoming, especially Megan and Darren.
Large free car park.
I would recommend for those looking for a more high end experience rather than the usual spit and sawdust you tend to get in the surrounding areas, that said, priced reasonably so a no brainer.
Five stars from me *****

My partner and I went to the restaurant at The Ship Inn for dinner. The food, especially the starters (baked camembert and calamari) was gorgeous. The mains were also pretty lovely, I had the chicken burger which had this pesto-mayo sauce in- very unique! Overall we had a lovely time, however I felt the decor could've been more true to the roots of the building, it felt slightly soulless in my opinion, although my partner believes it was done well, so it's all down to personal taste really. A great place to go if you can ignore the slightly millennial-vibe decor.
Update 18th July 23. An outstanding welcome from the Spanish Manager, apologies, can't remember his name. Was alone while waiting for a friend, made me feel comfortable and pleased to be there. Server was also above and beyond.
Food was unfortunately, impressive. My friend had 'homemade ' chicken and bacon pie, large portion but awful soggy bottom which she couldn't eat. I had wagyu burger which was nice, a small amount of chips and cheap coleslaw, tiny portion.
The staff are an asset, the food not so much. Free wifi and car parking.
Had a lunchtime set 2 course meal for £10.95. Very healthy choices, grilled meats and salad with rice or pulses. Enjoyable, would return for an evening meal with wine or even a takeaway.
Large car park in rear. Will completely close in August for staff holidays, don't remember dates.
