One of these very few places in England where you can eat great food and drink good fresh beer a perfect place at least for me
A little gem of a place. The food is superb with a seasonal specials menu and the pub is very cosy and welcoming. Dogs are permitted. There are three rooms above the pub to stay in. I have now stayed in two of them and have been extremely impressed by the decor, size and facilities. Water plus complimentary tea and coffee are provided and the breakfast is excellent. Lisa the landlady is lovely and remembered me from my stay last year. The pub is about a twenty five minute walk from Eastbourne town centre and a few minutes only from the seafront..an ideal location! Off street parking is also provided. Highly recommended (actually I kind of wish I hadn't reviewed this because I don't want anyone else to find this treasure!)
Thank you for a brilliant weekend stay
Absolutely fantastic place! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the staff! The atmosphere is great, the garden is lovely and the bar staff amazing, the food looked absolutely amazing but there was unfortunately no more tables available for us......definitely next time
Had an excellent evening here on our first visit. Staff were a delight. The evening dinner was excellent. Service was really enjoyable.
Beer was just right, too. Nice friendly atmosphere in pleasant surroundings.
I was a little wary about a pub stay to be honest. When I saw website I was ok let’s see. It was welcoming and worth it. I would stay again hospitality was lovely. Food was good too. Thank you!!
To add this was recommended by my partners work colleague.
Nice relaxed pub, run by a really friendly team who made both the humans and the dog very welcome. Pleasant small garden, nice airy lounge bar with pleasant and comfy furnishings, a really nice space to spend time in.
Food really good; especially loved the Angus burger. Desserts sounded great, if only we hadn't been full already!
We had a delicious lunch and the staff were very nice and the service was very good. It's attractively decorated with memorabilia and flora and fauna separated into several little nooks.
It's right by the start of the Seven sisters walk from Eastbourne down a little side street with a little car park.
It is a very nice pub in its own right. We didn't stay in the place but we only visited the pub. although it was crowded, the service was very fast. also the staff were very attentive, they immediately found a table and took care of us. whether you are a local or a tourist, it is a place you should not pass by.
Booked for lunch last Saturday, all easily done on Internet. Parking no problem, lovely decor, staff were excellent, food delicious, changed my sons meal without any fuss, cannot fault. Would highly recommend.
Had a decent Sunday afternoon meal, roasts were good (beef and lamb) and as was the burger and pie if the day (steak pie) - good location but watch out where you park, check the signs we ended up with a parking ticket
We had a lovely welcome at The Pilot Inn. We were given Room 3 which had a freestanding copper bath in the corner of the room. There were windows on two aspects, fabulous bed, wet room, coffee pod machine, biscuits, kettle and further coffee & tea making facilities, a fan, a heater, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, fridge and loads of towels and bathroom smellies. The pub is close to the seafront and situated in the nicer part of town. Dinner and breakfast were delicious! We shall try and come back later in the year for a nothing treat.
I can highly recommend the pilot inn, each time my grandad comes over from the Isle of Wight I also bring him here as he loves their fresh fish and he is very particular about his food! I'm a vegetarian and find the options are lovely also, the staff are always pleasant, there is a small car park and it's within walking distance to Eastbourne's lovely beach front afterwards! The meal portions are very good and in general I think the food menu is great!
