Me and my wife had our wedding reception and wedding breakfast at the Crown and Anchor Pub. The Landlady was incredibly helpful and helped accommodate all our needs. On the night Olly and all the staff were brilliant they took all the stress off our shoulders and the event ran so smoothly. The buffet (£15pp at the time of writing) was absolutely delicious and the wedding breakfast was equally delicious.
We highly recommend the Crown and Anchor Pub for dinner but also for hosting functions!
Lastly but not least the function room has a private balcony and sea view!
Have walked past many times, and it has always been busy.
Nice atmosphere inside and a nice recently renovated outside area.
Staff are friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
The menu covers a large range of tastes, and a lot of dishes are homemade.
Hubby had the Boston burger, which came with chips and coleslaw. He was very impressed with the burger being so tasty, and all of it was freshly cooked.
I had the chilli con carni. Very nice 👌..didn't think it would have a kick at all, but it did just right. Rice was cooked perfectly. Garlic bread was a nice surprise, but don't bother with the salad.
Well worth the money. We will be back as we want to try some more dishes 😋

We booked the venue for our after-party event and everything was amazing! After our wedding at The Grand, we went to the private party venue at The Crown and Anchor and had food, music, dance, and drinks! - Everything was spot on.
We want to highlight the amazing service we received from the team, especially from their amazing Manager Ollie! He made the experience feel like 5*, he is just magic!
We highly recommend this place if you are planning an event in Eastbourne. Truly a gem in the area.
Great Place on the seafront. Large choice of Beers and Wines. Sunday Roast very good. Steak and Ale pie very good. Moist, pleanty of gravey, accompanying vedge well cooked. Only dissalpointing dish was Garlick Mushrooms. Not a lot of taste. Overall a good choice for food and drinks. Buzzing atmosphere. Staff all at the top of their game. Outside seating area a great place to watch the world go by. Never boring. Live music some nights. Went 3 nights on the trott. So must have been good
Remarkably friendly and quick service. Very wide range of vegan and gluten-free dishes, which is really great as this is not yet offered in Germany. Unfortunately we were only there on the last day of our holiday, otherwise we would definitely have come back.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent house gin and the Long Man bitter was glorious. Food portions were generous and the food itself was top notch. Could even smoke outside. If you're in Eastbourne treat yourself, you won't regret it.

Whether you want a quiet drink, night out, family dinner or a wedding they will provide everything you need and more! The staff are so friendly, they go above and beyond to cater for your needs, the food is incredible, and the atmosphere is fantastic 🤩 right on the seafront for amazing views in the day time and local enough to be the place you need to end up on a night out! I had dinner last night at the pub. Sausage and mash with fresh veg. The portions are huge and dinner was very tasty. I returned this morning to have breakfast. The food was hot, tasty and the portion was huge. I would recommend the Crown and Anchor not only just for the food but also it is a place with atmosphere, good selection of ales and lovely staff.
First meal at the Crown & Anchor: Sunday Roast Beef. Good ambience: sports area separated well from the non-sports area. Staff polite. Food well prepared but feel a really good Sunday Roast needs a good stacking of vegetables compared to an everyday pub meal.
lovely food cooked to perfection. Lovely pub atmosphere. We stopped to have a drink to hide from the rain and was served by Jess, Lovely lady polite and friendly with a great smile. So we decided to return and have a meal. So pleased we did it was delightful. Hope Jess gets the recgnition she deserves. Thank you loads.
We have just had an excellent meal here as a family. The food was excellent as was the service. Great place to come for food and drink. Atmosphere rated slightly less due to some negative encounters with customers; one when I was wating at the bar for around 5 minutes and a group walked straight in off the street postponed themselves at the bar in front of me and almost got served before me I had to interject to point out to the member of staff that I was there first and had been for some time. Secondly we were surrounded by loud Liverpool fans; this did not provide for a relaxing atmosphere to eat our meal.

And little people are certainly not forgotten. There's a creative menu for all age ranges.
There's even a detailed spirits menu reflective of the professional team at the Crown. Located on Eastbourne's iconic seafront the Crown and Anchor is a must-visit location. Keep in mind that on certain sports nights the Crown can be quite lively, but always in good fun. There's never a problem with guests behaving. Without doubt, the professional staff are well respected and the message is clear and upheld by staff and guests alike - scallywags and ne'er-do-wells are not welcome!
I highly recommend, without reservation. Best pub food in Eastbourne and a great place to rub elbows!

Friendly and fun with a good atmosphere. Bar staff polite and smiley. The door staff helpful and professional with genuinely good nature's.
Top quality choices in bands, music and karaoke.
A must if you want a great time.
I also have to mention that they run a very safe policy for anyone who is feeling uncomfortable or not safe.
I think it's called Sarah's law but I'm not 100% sure on that.
