Absolutely delicious lamb or chicken Afghan biryanis - fresh, tasty, served nice and hot and on heated plates. Lovely food! Extremely reasonable prices and nice clean coffee house. Such a lovely change from all the same samey places in Eastbourne!
Lovely welcome. Small menu but plenty to try out. Enjoyed the mango shake alot, its just like a "Lassie". simple tasty cheese and onion sandwich and a panini. could do with more cheese in the panini and cooked a little longer. coffee is very nice. has just one large toilet. few tables to sit outside. would visit again :)
Lovely cafe with an interesting menu. It is really clean and well laid out. Cafe has WiFi and breakfast menu and lots of interesting choices of snacks and main meals
Update we came in the summer ☀️ in much better weather in June and had the platter and smoothie and it was lovely. Other people eating and very generous portions.

Very friendly service and great food/drinks. We had the iced mocha, banana coconut shake as well as the pistacho/chocolate twist and a piece of carrot cake and all of it was delicious. The large iced mocha was indeed quite large!
One of my favorite parts was that there are a few large shelves heaped with books - you can take them for a small donation fee that you leave as cash in a box by the register. I got the two in the photo in absolutely pristine condition!
The café has a few Afghan-inspired foods on the menu as well which makes it even more unique.

Kessa cafe located close to the beach and had a delightful experience. The ambiance of the cafe was warm and inviting, with a comfortable seating arrangement and a soothing decor that made me feel relaxed and at home.
The highlight of my visit was the Afghani tea, which was brewed to perfection and had a unique blend of spices that left a lingering taste on my palate. It was the perfect drink to warm me up on a cold day.
I also tried the Indian veg biryani, which was fragrant, flavorful, and packed with wholesome vegetables. The portion size was generous, and the dish was well-presented, making it a treat for both my eyes and taste buds.
The staff at the cafe was exceptional, they were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist me with anything I needed. They had an in-depth knowledge of the menu and were able to provide valuable recommendations that enhanced my dining experience.
Yaghana provided us with an incredible selection of food for our party. The service was excellent and such a good price! Highly recommend. Truly delicious!
