The Green Man Fish & Chips

Just had fish and chips in here. 9 pound something to eat in, the food was amazing. In my opinion it's worth the money but a deal on this could easily bring in more customers. I was the only person eating in and there were few collections, which is a shame since it's the best fish and chips I have had in london. I would suggest if they did fish and chips with a drink for £10.50 eat in this place could become a goldmine. Why? Locally nowhere does good fish that is comparable to here. Nor is it cooked fresh. If the margins allow it this place would close down other competitors. I wish them good luck in future and hope the food remains as consistent as when in any area of London from now on I will come to this place.

Not a bad little joint, this one. Straightforward place, straightforward fish 'n chip menu and quite competent. The only thing that isn't on the menu is scampi - it was explained to us that it's not kosher for the majority of the Green Man's customers. Whitebait and salmon are available - not something you often see in fish 'n chip restaurants. I tried the salmon grilled. Result was decent enough. If I was going to be fussy, I'd say that maybe a minute or so less under the grill might have given a softer texture, but otherwise it was alright. Chips usually set like concrete in my stomach for ages afterwards but the Green Man version is not like that - about an hour later, it felt as if I'd never had them. Never experienced that before - might have to try another round to find out how it's done!
