Consistently of an excellent standard for both lunch and dinner. The food is well priced, generously portioned and absolutely delicious. There is always a great variety of dishes on the menu from vegetarian to meat eaters, healthy to indulgent, with a wide range of influences. One of the best in Edinburgh.
On a beautiful evening, conference dinner was hosted at this restaurant. Staff who are just too good right from your entry , till making you comfortable with taking the place, helping you decide from their menu which has varieties of tempting food leaving u confused for longtime and then throughout your dining. Food..was just woww. Every dish made with so much perfection, the dishes promising their distinct flavors, the way cooked and presented leave you craving for more. You are too tempted to try all the dishes. The tables are little closely arranged but you forget it when food is on the table. Confit leg of duck, veggie haggis are must try. Desserts are something not to be missed.
Delicious food, perfect portion size, great atmosphere, excellent prices. It's a wee bit out of the way to be classed as city centre dining, but well worth the trek.
Delicious selection of dishes and a wonderful atmosphere - a must if you're after a very memorable dinner and some fantastic traditional dishes with a twist!
Delicious food in a friendly setting with a very well priced lunch menu. Recommend the refreshing Porto Tonico to drink. Good wine options. Mackerel fish cakes were very tasty. Really liked the curried garnish with the haggis bonbons. The trout on a bed of crab pasta was a highlight. The confit duck was rich and satisfying. Keen to visit again and try more of the menu items. Need to save room for dessert next time.
At the time of writing this review, I'm still in the restaurant, it's because I want to express my feedback while it was fresh.
I called to book a table just 10 minutes ahead and we very quickly got a table reserved.
On arrival, we were greeted by a lovely lady who took us to our table and she was looking after us throughout the stay.
We were quickly offered and served the wine and the food order was taken also very fast.
Rioja wine they serve is to die for, so good!
Our meals came in really fast intervals, they looked tasty and tasted even better than they looked.
Simply delicious!
The price is probably the lowest I could see in centrally located in Edinburgh. Only £16 for 2 courses and £19 for 3 courses lunch.
So so affordable!
We were in Blonde restaurant a few times before and each time they do deliver.
Highly recommended!
Absolutely great food at a really good price. We tried several main dishes here and all were fantastic. Delicate sea bass fillet, tender chicken breast enriched by pomegranate seeds, tasty sauce with lamb meat balls, and they together made the popular duck confit relatively less impressive.
Quality starters as well, we particularly love the seafood chowder. And the desserts were mind-blowing, probably among the best we have ever had. The chocolate cake was exceptionally delicious, don’t miss it.
Food and service was top notch. I had the black pudding starter and the steak. Both were amazing. 8 of us were in a room to the rear and it was loud though... Need some acoustic treatment/soft furnishings to take the place from an 8 to a 10. Will definitely be back!
Great restaurant, a long time favourite. Plenty of choices and very reasonably priced. Good quality food and wine. Friendly staff. I would definitely recommend.
Lovely food and excellent service. We visit Blonde every time we are in Edinburgh and are always very pleased to be there. They always have a delicious menu.
Honestly the best restaurant I've had sea bass from. The smoked salmon, soups, risotto, tangine, duck, and wine were all excellent. Sadly we had no more room for dessert. Compliments to the chef and staff for keeping the place a quality, cosy and friendly place for all to enjoy. Blonde delivers on food, service, and atmosphere and unlike many others they are extremely reasonably priced. Thank you v much!
Such good food and service - was just walking past looking for somewhere and was surprised with the quality of the food. Had the two course lunch menu - fig salad followed by the sea bass - just delicious!!
Food quality/price ratio is excellent. The food is well cooked & the flavours are apparent.
Really enjoyed the smoked mackerel fishcakes, sea bass, duck confit & rhubarb crème brulé.
Service is excellent despite being extremely busy, when there was only one person out front.
I really enjoyed this place, and felt this was much better value than recent Michelin-recommend restaurants I've tried.
£50 for 4 courses (total) and a bottle of wine (lunch).
Would definitely return.
Came with my other half on 3rd May and really enjoyed our experience here. Both the food and service was amazing. Having water with bread and butter brought over straight away was a great touch too. Really nice little place with great service, food and atmosphere.
