Super impressed. Four of us went, one vegan, one vegetarian, one gluten free and one normal person. The staff could not have been more attentive or helpful. The owner came over and explained the menu and that everything was made to order, therefore we could pick and choose what we wanted. The food was delicious! Can not recommend this place enough! Super friendly and helpful staff and really wonderful food!
A fabulous Italian eatery so close to the centre of the city. Crostini Frizzante starter is to die for. Fresh, perfectly balanced, tasty. Spaghetti Mare is excellent, and we are never disappointed by the dessert specials on offer. Always high quality and always different.
Excellent food and friendly service. Four of us visited last night and had a memorable meal in pleasant surroundings at Bar Frizzante. Crostini Vegetali and a selection of Antipasti scored highly as starters. Main courses - the Vitello Pasquale and Pollo Jalapeno were delicious. The younger diners rated the pizzas as amongst the best they have ever had (and they have had a few).
Overall, a great dining experience - well worth a visit.
I will always visit this restaurant when in Edinburgh and it really is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and entertaining. I've had a variety of different meals which have all been good. Look out for the specials on the chalkboard. I do feel they can rush you in and out a little by quite literally taking plates away before everyone has finished. This could just be efficiency though and it will not stop me going back again.
Had an absolutely amazing meal last night, Linguine, clams, white wine and cream sauce, black ravioli stuffed with scallop and king prawn with a spicy tomato sauce , and of course had to have Tiramisu and Cannoli for dessert. All served by Pasquale and his lovely staff in a great friendly atmosphere. Pasquale took time out to sit and chat with us. Will define back .
We have been to quite a few restaurants on edinbrugh, mostly Italians, and this is by far the best. This family run place is so wholesome, with the kindest owners and staff. They took the time to chat to us and made us feel so welcome and like honoured guests!
On top of how nice everyone was, the food was delicious. We had wild boar and ravioli and king prawns and black ravioli with the house wine. All brilliant, and tiramisu for pudding with a top notch alcohol content!
We will definitely be back here and highly suggest you take a visit yourselves
We were on a family trip to UK and spent a day in Edinburgh. We love Italian food, our daughter's favourite dish is lasagne. We were so happy we went to Frizzante for lunch. It is the best Italian food we had! Every dish was so delicious. The service is also great. It is a family run restaurant. The very nice waitress turned out to be the co-owner of the restaurant. We arrived late and were the last guests in the restaurant, but we didn't feel being rushed to order. She actually came to chit-chat with us after we finished our meal and gave us sightseeing tips. We will definitely return to this restaurant when we go to Edinburgh next time and we strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Italian food!

Came for my birthday meal with a group of 11 friends. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious! And considering there was a big group of us the staff delivered our food quickly and efficiently. Would definitely come back in the future!

Absolutely fantastic……visit was due to an event at usher hall and we weren’t aware of Frizzante before, beautifully authentic….friendly, the food was outstanding and the atmosphere and staff were magnificent….highly recommended
We’ll be back! Such a great find - beautiful authentic food (so delighted to find Linguine al Vongole on the menu). We were celebrating our sons 27 birthday and the staff couldn’t have been lovelier (thanks especially to Olivia who was so kind). A very special meal thank you.
A very nice Italian place. The range is not big, but it's possible to have lunch or the main menu. I had lunch and it was delicious. The service was also fine, not too fast, but also not slow, very balanced.
Fried brie with mango sauce is a must have for a good mood for the whole day :)
