What a beautiful place. Fairy lights and lanterns on the ceiling and gorgeous wall paper. The staff brilliant. The food very tasty. The salt and chilli ribs super yum. Very kindly provided with extra fortune cookies at the end of the meal and after starters provided with the cute little hand wipes with the Chinese animal years on the packaging. Very much recommend this place and the location is brilliant if you have just been to the zoo especially or are staying in the holiday Inn as we was. Hidden gem 💎 🌟

First time here for dinner and honestly one of the best Chinese meals I have had. So hot and fresh. Super tasty. Will be back and will definitely be coming here for takeaway from now on. Service great and friendly. Makes such a difference getting hot plates and food coming out piping hot. Can tell food cooked fresh. Delicious food. Would recommend

We enjoyed everything offered in Cool Jade - food, wine and hospitality. Great Cantonese cuisine, I wouldn’t refer the dishes as 100% authentic but we have just been satisfied with the quality, and the choices of compliments with the meat could not be more apt. Don’t miss the ice-cream, they are brilliant! Most staff could speak Cantonese, and they were very welcoming.

I was very excited to see a chinese restaurant opposite of our hotel and we planned for a dinner. We entered here with big expectations but it was an awful experience. Stuffs were seemed to be little irritated (don’t know why). Coming to the food quality it was ok not upto the mark. We ordered chicken noodles where chicken was overcooked and almost burnt. Now i come to the main point i saw on other tables they placed the bill with some toffees or confectionaries but when our turn came to pay the bill, there was no such formalities extended to us. Moreover, we were asked to provide ID proofs for card payments. This was the first time we were asked for such kind of ID proofs. We had a great time in UK; London, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh and across all restaurants we visited except for this one. Now we regret going to this place.

Visited Cool Jade for a family treat whilst in Edinburgh for the weekend. I will say it’s without a doubt the best Chinese food we’ve ever tasted. The service was also without fault, loved seeing the sidling plated quite a spectacle. Obviously a very popular place, we had pre booked which I’m guessing is a good idea at busy times.

After a very long flight and tiring day we found this place nearby our holidayin hotel....our baby was super grumpy but the staff was very friendly patient and helping....ambiance was very nice.....treated us really nicely...food was yum....really enjoyed it....chicken mushroom soup was really good for our sour throats....

Sem sombra de dúvidas, o melhor restaurante chinês onde já comi, em toda a minha carreira de enfardadeira: o serviço é ótimo, a comida é uma delicia (as hóstias de camarão estavam mornas e estaladiça a, as gambás agridoces pareciam lavagantes de tão grandes, o pato estava estaladiço e bem cozinhado) e o ambiente é muito agradável. Voltaria muito, não fora um nadinha fora de mão.

On entering Cool JADE for our booked meal on Saturday we were welcomed with smiles and great service with prompt attention to our comforts. The meal was excellent, as to choosing chicken and mushroom soup, beef curry and one chowmein, as well as Banana fritters with ice cream presented with style and elegance. I can only recommend that it is a place not to miss out on in Corstorphine. COOL JADE.  WILL BE BACK Thank you to all the attentive staff.

So we entered what was clearly an absolutely mobbed restaurant at 9pm last night, with a slightly stressed woman pointing over to where we were to sit. And I was concerned. But I shouldn't have been. It was excellent. We had the Ha Kau Prawn dim sum and spicy squid to start...both delicious. The squid was crispy and just the right amount for us both. Then onto the mains. I had beef satay, which came to the table sizzling, and with the addition of pineapple it was lovely. He had an obscure dish-prawns, wrapped in duck, in a crab sauce. By some form of wizardry -the duck remained crispy, despite having the sauce all over it. Very glad to have had this place recommended to me- finally after 6 years of searching I've have a really great Chinese in the neighbourhood!

In a nutshell: Great place to have lunch while visiting Edinburgh Zoo. Just cross the road and avoid the bland food in this type of touristy places. <br/>The restaurant has a limited lunch menu, but fairly decent and well priced. You can sense from the decor and style that the dinner menu is the strength of this place.<br/>Only problem with lunch is the very limited opening times, if you don't order by 1.45pm... Well, you'll have to head back to the zoo and get some chips or something!

Lovely restaurant, I always feel like it’s a special occasion when I visit Cool Jade with the white table cloths and flowers on the table. It’s decor is all Indian inspired and the lights are really unusual throughout the restaurant. <br/><br/>The food is also very tasty and I’ve always liked every dish that I’ve had when I visited. Dishes that I would recommend would be the chicken sweetcorn soup to start which is lovely and chunky which is how I like it or the prawn toast is also very tasty. If you like noodles I would recommend the Beef Chow Mein which is lovely or if you are more of a rice person the chicken satay skewers with fried rice is delicious. Everything is really reasonably priced and the staff are always very friendly. <br/><br/>Another plus is if you can’t be bothered going out to dinner they also do take away

Prince Gastronome. What is it, a lime flavored beverage? A Japanese pop-rock band? A shade of wall paint by Glidden? No, Cool Jade is a Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh, the last restaurant I would review during my vacation, and the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever visited there or anywhere. The range of choices, the quality of delivered dishes and the overall décor cannot be praised enough. In less than two hours we enjoyed a range of Asian dishes I’d never seen in the many Westernized Chinese restaurants I’ve visited in my home town (and I’ve been to them all). Unfortunately, without an online menu or even a website, it’s difficult for me to detail the specific dishes ordered at Cool Jade, so I’ll have to go on memory and photos.<br/><br/>The décor is classy, presented as a top-notch bistro rather than a brunch-buffet location where casual eaters shovel chow mein and chop suey via forks and ladle-sized spoons into their distended stomachs...<br/><br/>...yeah, I admit having a tendency to offend those that support and promote westernized Chinese restaurants because I’ve been to China and tasted authenticity first hand. I get asked often to recommend Chinese buffets, but for me it’s like requesting a favored Arby’s location—they are all the same and the quality can be graded on the same scale as your next bowel movement, which in this case arrives fast and definitely furious. Cool Jade is exactly what I have been wishing for since my trip to China so many years ago (so many—okay, it was six). <br/>The initial plate was a collection of appetizers including crispy seaweed, sesame cakes, spare ribs, egg rolls, and deep fried dumplings, all resting on a warming plate. After that we were served up shredded duck with pancakes, spicy beef, and noodles. There was no real entrée for each sitter, just a collection of plates the both of us shared from, as it should be and how it actually is in many cultures across the world. The meal was fun and satisfying but it was the more authentic touches I appreciated like the plastic-wrapped towelette or the fact that the chopsticks were plastic. I hate plastic chopsticks but it’s one thing I clearly remembered from China. Wooden sticks are a luxury of the west given our amount of timber. Or how about the carrot carved into the shape of a pagoda temple or the other one in the shape of a flower.<br/>Yeah, a pagoda temple, that level of detail. This attention is not often seen in Westernized Chinese. <br/><br/>I had been teased about Cool Jade for weeks—about how good it was, superior to other restaurants like it. Having experience in this field I know why, because they don’t compromise. They don’t pander to the tasteless, cultureless masses. Westernized Chinese food is for people without culinary curiosity—who think that eating Chinese is them upsetting the normal order of hamburgers, steaks, and potato chips, the staple daily diet. Cool Jade is not selling to those people. This is for people who when they leave their homes and eat out, they want something special, an event worth remembering. It’s what I want. It’s what I got: a fantastic experience on my last day in Edinburgh. <br/><br/>Of course, the meal still had to end with fortune cookies. Some things never change.<br/>Did I mention there was a carrot carved into the shape of a pagoda?<br/><br/>DECOR: 9<br/>PLATING: 10<br/>SERVICE: 8<br/>FOOD: 9<br/>VALUE: 9<br/><br/>OVERALL: 9 out of 10

Delicious. Cool Jade is a fantastic Chinese restaurant. <br/><br/>The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is of a very high quality. The restaurant has style and charm in equal quantities.<br/><br/>Dim Sum was piping hot and (clearly) deliciously hand made, as opposed to the all too common packet Dim Sum that is the norm in many Chinese restaurants. Main meals were correctly sized, and delicious. The chefs expertise shines through.<br/><br/>Problems? None. <br/><br/>This restaurant, and it's kind, professional team, is a credit to Chinese style cooking.

Finally..a brilliant takeaway. We have tried so many chinese takeaways and restaurants over this side of Edinburgh and the Broxburn and S Queensferry area, none of which are that good, in fact we stopped going for Chinese food as it was so disapointing. However, after a recommendation we tried Cool Jade. Well worth it, you can really taste each flavour and the freshness is fantastic. DELICIOUS!!! Seriously, you have to try it...
