A really nice place to head out for brunch. The afternoon tea with some toast sounds just about right. Its a cute small bakery in leith. Definitely worth a visit.
Visited this place whilst on holiday with my family. It’s the perfect place for a delicious, full filling breakfast.
Everyone recommended us to have a meal at this place and it certainly did not disappoint.
Had been to Mimi's bakehouse and its was and fantastic place to hangout ooh soo sweet Mimi's french toast stack ek dum swadisht ek delicious
Grand marnier hot chocolate was also too yummy and superb
I’ll just put this out there. I love Mimi’s. I have always loved Mimi’s since they opened in Leith and my love affair with their French Toast began and I doubt it will ever wane. Mimi’s Bakehouse first opened their doors in late 2010 and they have been adding to their Bakehouse empire ever since, opening up in Corstorphine and the Royal Mile. They are a family of bakers and long may their reign continue as most things, okay everything, that comes out of Mimi’s is utterly delicious.
A small yet cosy bakery where the staff are always smiling and friendly! A favourite haunt for a girly catch up session or just a peaceful breakfast, you have to try the scones at Mimi's, they're the best!
A friend had recommend Mimis and as my daughter loves high teas we thought we would give it a go for her birthday. We went for the beforenoon tea which is only available Saturday's and Sunday's 9am until 12pm,the bake house was extremely busy so I was ever so glad we booked and it was the last Sunday of the Edinburgh festival. We all had a hot drink to start, amazing selection of teas available The beforenoon tea had bacon butties, cheese scones,French toast, waffles with toffee, muffins and granola. You can also get a glass of orange,Apple and cranberry juice for an extra £2.00. We had never experienced the sweet with the savoury before but very tantalising on the tastebuds. It all comes on the 3 tier cake stand and what you can't eat can be taken away. We all enjoyed the tea and the service was excellent the staff even put a candle on a scone for my daughter. We will all be going back some time to try some of the different teas available.
Amazing food and drinks! Must try the banana split French toast, it is simply delicious. The veggie gourmet breakfast is also quite nice.
Would definitely go back there!!
Mimi's is extremely popular in Edinburgh but I only managed to visit for the first time last week. My boyfriend and I went in for tea and a cake in the afternoon and I was surprised at how big the cafe is inside; I know that it can be difficult to get a seat at weekends, so I imagined it to be quite small.
There were so many delicious looking cakes that we both found it hard to order. Eventually we chose to share a Mars bar crispy and a slice of banana and Nutella cake. Both were amazing, the banana and Nutella is a fantastic combination and the Mars bar crispy was a huge square with bits of Mars bar on top.
Along with the cakes the service was a highlight of our time at Mimi's. Our server was cheerful and bright and very engaging with us. I can't wait to try more of Mimi's cakes!
Just been to the beforenoon tea at Mimi's after having it on my hitlist for a while. Dear lord, what a treat! Always been a fan of their afternoon tea offering but this is in a league of it's own. Delicious bacon rolls on soft warm rolls, granola, a teeny cupcake- and then the stars of the show...cinnamon buns, waffles with dulche de leche and cheese and chive scones. Can't decide what my fav was- but I was left unable to speak...which is unheard of. Brilliant.
It took me a while but I finally visited the much spoken about bakery for afternoon tea. The ambience, staff and variety offered on the platter, definitely does justice to the popularity the place has received. Just a word of advice though, don't make the mistake I did by ordering hot chocolate, you'd probably be better off with some tea instead.
Excellent location near the Shore. Easy access by bus, 16/35 stops right in front. Breakfast chips are amazing. The breakfast sandwich had a copious amount of ooey gooey cheese. Scones are the size of my hand with smooth cream.

Such a lovely place to have a break from everything. We just have a flat white, cappuccino and scottish Rocky Road, but the feeling of this place is superb. Lovely service, variety of items to choose from and the location.
Keep it up. Great place, check yourself.
Went for Halloween tea! Savory treats were amazing!
Breakfast at Mimi's which was superb.
Service and food was excellent. This is the fourth time we have been to Mimi's and it gets better with each visit.
Lovely place, very good sandwiches (tried the one with Milano salami) as well as good cakes and scones. I was expecting a little bit more for the cake and the coffees but overall a great place to have a brunch or a scone!
Lovely stay in this bakery. I remember being here 9 years prior for my first visit to Edinburgh. It was a pleasure to come back again for the second, it was just as delicious as I had remembered. Would strongly recommend their Mimi’s Scottish Blend and Oreo cupcakes, but honestly, any pick will be beyond your expectations. It was lovely to stop here after our walk toward Lieth, alongside the Water Lieth.
Visited Mimi’s at Leith this morning, the avocado toast was phenomenal! The cafè looked very clean and with really nice decor.
The hostess at the door was so nice with us and took the time to go over the cakes they sell.
The service was also impeccable, the blonde waitress was polite and helpful.
The coffee was very good too and the barista was nice and chatty.
Thank’s Mimi’s for the positive experience!
First class food and service, not surprised they have won so many awards. We visited on a Friday lunchtime, looked like a mother and toddler group had turned out so it a bit loud!! Highly recommended. Visited a couple of times since, still good. Table booking via website recommended at busy times, weekends etc.. No designated parking.
So worth the drive from the center. The scones are delicious! Make sure to ask for the scones since they are not on the menu(found the place in a few top scones places for Edinburgh). The clotted cream and jam are delicious and all together is just so so yummy! Also, the place is really pretty and the staff is friendly!
Booked online for 1 o’clock but they managed to squeeze us in earlier at 11 which was nice. Probably the best scones we have ever tasted with fresh jam and clotted cream. Also the poached egg with salmon was lovely as the salmon tasted really fresh. The cafe was all social distanced and the staff wore plastic face coverings and gloves. Felt very safe.
