A very nice meal - perfect for vegetarian options and you won't feel hungry when you leave. Excellent service throughout the meal attentive but not intrusive. If you have a few nights in Edinburgh this place is well worth a visit . It seems booking a table is the only guarantee you will get in . Love the idea of bring your own bottle
Best restaurant in Edinburgh. Amazing staff and incredible food for such good value. Beirut caters for my birthday every year and never disappoints! Could not recommend more.
Fantastic food, fun atmosphere, friendly service; this is somewhere I have walked past and been intrigued by but not had a chance to stop by. It's busy in a vibrant and enthusiastic way. BYOB, come hungry, order the chicken!
Excellent food both meat and veggie. I particularly enjoyed the starters. Staff really friendly. BYOB so not too expensive. Would recommend.
My partner and I decided to have dinner at beirut this friday and we were not disapointed, this restaurant really lives up to the reviews. The welcome was very warm, our waitress was very frindly, attentive and knowledgeable. She recommended the set menu for two and we glad we took her recommendation, a big selection of amazing tasty starters, mixed grills and baklava, very good value for money. With this food, service and value for money I can say that Beirut is one of the top restaurants in edinburgh and I will defenitaly recommend it to every one.
Unforgetable lebanese experience. It was our first experience trying Lebanese food after being recommended by my work colleagues. I had went along with my husband and we brought along our own alcohol as it was BYOB, which was lovely as im fussy when it comes to drink. We were greeted by a lovely waiter who we later found out to be the owner. What a lovely personal touch we recieved from the owner and the waitresses. We had the set menu for 2 which gave us the chance to try a selection of starters, a main and dessert. The taboleh, so fresh and crisp. Highly recommend this to try. Not only was the food just fabulous but the decor was warm and intimate with the candles on. We will be back soon as the price, service and quality food allows this place to be a regular place to dine.
Overall, I still rather like Beirut. This time there were some hiccups in the service and food, but having been before when both were impeccable, I dare say that it was our own fault for going in the middle of the afternoon when we should have been having a roast in some nonde
I saw this little place hiding away in Edinburgh. Lebanese food can have a very late night kebab shop feel to it, when it is not done right. Beirut on the other hand was an absolute delight. It's a really small quaint place with only around 20 covers but the atmosphere inside is great! The waiters make you feel welcome, the debit is filled with Lebanese pictures and trinkets, the lighting was dimmed but not dark (which was a relief). I had the makanek starter, a homemade Lebanese sausage in a fragrant herb and tomato based sauce, and for main I had lamb with green beans. The stater came and I initially thought that there was too much sauce but the sausages inside were little chunks of gold. They were melt in the mouth with the subtlest hint of parsley and mint. The only thing that didn't stop me from ordering another was the thought of my main. When the main came I was again delighted. The lamb was slow cooked to perfection. There was no need for a knife or a fork. All that was required was the Lebanese bread that arrived warm and helped me mop up every morsel. The seasoning overall was excellent which is a difficult skill to master. Overall I think it's a little gem of place that I have no doubt will be visited by me!!
Nice restaurant.
The food was cooked real well. The meat balls and chicken tawook were very nice.
The staff were generally nice, some of the employees were a little blunt and not too welcoming.
The seating inside is nice but the entrance is a little tight.
The prices are a bit high for the portion sizes in my opinion.
This place is just second to none. The portion size is always so generous that every menu we ordered was more than enough to make a hungry person full even if it’s a starter or a side dish! The taste is also impeccable. Meat is juicy, well-seasoned, and tender. Service is of course top-notch, especially the owner is super friendly and attentive.
Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Don’t forget to order the desserts - their baklavas are freshly made and superb.
I had the lamb lunch special and my husband had the fish. They were both delicious and our waiter was so nice and helpful. I wish I could eat here every week but sadly I live in a different country. Next time I’m in Edinburgh I will be back.
First time in an authentic Lebanese restaurant and definitely wont be the last , proper middle eastern hospitality and atmosphere with fantastic food well presented by the friendly staff in a small but cosy room. I had the Lamb Kibbeh to start followed by the Shish Tawouk both washed down by a pint of Menebrea . This is an excellent find as its near the daughters new flat so we will be visiting again, highly recommended
Food is very good. Prices are moderate. Staff are very friendly.
Highly recommended.
Nice good value lunch place, friendly staff and healthy salads and meat options. Gluten free bread with the dips impressive.
Amazing Middle Eastern food. We had the set meal for 2 which was about £62. The starters mezze portion was huge and had lots of dishes. Everything was delicious. The main course was 4 different kebabs and rice between 2 which was a decent sized portion but not too much after all the starters. Dessert was 4 small baklava type pastries to share and were also great, not too much honey. The mint lemonade was also fantastic. I would definitely eat here again.
Some of the best humus I've had. The shawarma was great too. It came with this nan bread that had a red sauce on it that was really good
Absolutely loved the food, I wasn’t expecting the portion to be this huge, you can easily share a plate with a friend. Everything was so fresh , I felt the food melting in my mouth.
📍The location is very good as it is close to the University of Edinburgh. Fellow students, if you’re hungry, this is the place to be!
The only thing that I found a bit irritating was the music, I felt it was loud for a midday lunch.
Wonderful place however! Will visit soon for sure!!
I eat here every time I am in Edinburgh and really look forward to it. Fantastic menu, ambience and service. I always go for the sharing menu and I'm always stuffed! Delicious, authentic food which I highly recommend. You can take your own drinks as well! Fantastic
