Papavero Restaurant

My friend and I enjoyed a tasty meal on Friday night. Was reassuring to see hygiene procedures in place at the door. And good spacing between other customers. Would've given 5 stars, only it did take quite some time for our food to arrive. Also the wine we would have wanted wasn't avaliable. All in all a good and enjoyable visit. I shall be back!

This has to be one of the most underrated restaurants in all of Edinburgh! The food is amazing, well-presented, and affordable, the staff are super friendly and the place itself is lovely and atmospheric. I've tried the seafood spaghetti, calamari and tiramisu, all of which were delicious! It is independently owned, and the owner is very kind and obviously puts a lot of pride and effort into his work. Also, I disagree with the previous reviewer- I have been several times and I have never known the restrooms to be unclean.

We went here today for a lunch. The staff welcome was exceptional, and set the scene for a memorable meal. The menu was very varied, I chose a duck fish, my wife the salmon. Having read that everything was cooked from fresh here, we made the mistake of ordering one portion of garlic bread to share - it was delicious but more of it than I’d ever had before. Irresistible! The main courses did take time to arrive, as we’d read it was all cooked to order, nothing was sorting in a fridge ready to microwave ... We managed to make room for a sweet to share, and as we ate it the chef came out to chat to us. Overall, an excellent experience and one we’d recommend heartily.
