A great gallery hosting some amazing pictures Has a cafe for grabbing a drink. Well worth a visit just to see what's there. Entry cost is free but you can donate. You can spend a good couple of hours here easily. A really good place to visit.

I visited the National Galleries of Scotland during my visit to Scotland. It was awesome. The art work was great which shows different historical aspects from religion, war, routine life, Scottish culture and love. From beauty to quality. I enjoyed my visit to NGS very much. I wanted to spend more time over there but I had to go so i left after spending hours in the gallery. Each art work has its own specialty and purity. It was mesmerizing. I wish I could spend more time but....

A fascinating collection of European art staring from Italian and northern Renaissance up to early 20th century masters. Its main draw is it rich collection of Scottish artists. The entrance is free, it can get very crowded and the gift shop and 2 cafes provide a nice stop for rest.

It's a nice gallery. I love the atmosphere and the unusual red wall. Definitely a must visit after walking a lot in Edinburgh, just have a rest to enjoy the paintings. It is unfortunate that we came here not at the right timing as some of the galleries were closed for exhibition preparation, I believe, and they will be open on the following weekend. You can also enjoy a beautiful view from the window.

An art lover’s delight! Even an art novice like myself was able to truly appreciate the beauty. It was a nice surprise to see some of Van Gogh’s paintings as well

One of the world’s great art galleries nestled in the heart of the Athens of the North. Mediæval to modern art by so many of the great painters. Some of the most famous artworks in the world and endless gems to discover. Level access and FREE entry.

A must see for art enthusiasts. A choice that may take a full day. I myself saw one out of two building there. It was very enjoyable. There was a Cafe there to have a break. I found the floor Levels somewhat confusing. I found my way around none the less. Many attendants were around to flag down when I needed direction.

Lovely spot on our Edinburgh trip. Saw some Van Gogh paintings! Would also recommend the restaurant on groundfloor to grab some scones and brownies 💯

Not a person to be a gallery type of guy. But my god, the painting of especially scotland blew me away and came away inspired. A great, clean facility and interactive options for children.
