Lovely pub very close to city centre and station. Great choice of meals including plenty of options for vegetarian diners - including delicious veggie haggis, neeps and tatties. Highly recommended.

Came for our anniversary meal. The haggis bon bons were lovely but we were a little disappointed with the haggis burger and the chips seemed like they were frozen fries.
The staff were lovely tho & recommended 2 really nice Scottish lagers for us which we really enjoyed.
Loved stopping by this little pub with a good bit of history to the building. The interior feels unique with two floors and an interesting bar itself. Friendly staff.

An atmospheric pub in the heart of Edinburgh. Food was excellent and a good selection of local beers and whiskies. I had the Stornaway black pudding, served on fried toast with a poached egg, and a steak with haggis on the side. Delicious! Service was excellent.
What a lovely place to have a drink and meal! We came here by chance since we were thirsty and hungry and it looked cute. But we were not disappointed at all! The waiters are super nice and the food we ordered (stereotypical fish and chips but they were my first in the UK and I really wanted to try)

I had a group of 16 that I had to find somewhere for lunch on the 9th June 2023 (1pm). I booked and reserved the Tolbooth Tavern. I’m really glad I did. The service was really amazing and food too, considering the size of the group everyone was fed and watered in a fast manner. Will be back. Highly

The Tolbooth Tavern, the mere mention of its name invokes an aura of medieval Scottish charm, making you feel like William Wallace might just appear to toast freedom with you. Except he won't. And neither will the ghosts, because they're as real as unicorns and calorie-free deep-fried Mars bars.
