Belo local para tomar o pequeno almoço em Edimburgo. Local sossegado, ao estilo de café americano, com várias opções como ovos benedict ou panquecas.
Amazing breakfast
You should totally try the eggs. I took the Monroe and it was perfect! The staff is nice and polite and the location is full of Americans souvenirs.
This cafe in Edinburgh serves Scottish breakfast ALL DAY LONG! What else does one need on a lazy vacation?
Their all day breakfast set menu is obviously the delicacies of Scotland - Haggis and Tattis, plus black pudding, sausages, hash brown, bacon, omelette and what not. The breakfast plate is pretty big and more than enough for one person.
Taste wise- very good
Value for money- definitely
Ambience- hip vibe, pool table
Also tried their chicken burger and chilly cheese fries. Again very good.
I am a big fan of The City Cafe. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun and they always have good music playing too.
The servers are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and can offer great recommendations on drinks too.
We ordered the nachos, loaded fries and the mixed meat platter. All the food was really, really good. Some of the best nachos I have had in a while. Good spice and flavour! The loaded fries were really good too! Chips were nice and crispy and the jalapenos added a nice amount of heat.
The mixed meat platter was average I would say. The ribs were good amd sausages too, it's just that the sliders were so dry and there wasn't Andy garnish on them either. Also no sauce? But other than that, everything else was cooked really well.
Happy to go back again!
Great spot for breakfast or any food anytime of day. Staff are happy and helpful! Prices are reasonable. Good service and great environment. Would recommend to anyone :)
Went here for breakfast with my sister, I've ordered their Castro Eggs Benedict(smoked salmon) and my sister has ordered their Ham eggs benedict. Both are great, perfectly cooked runny eggs, nice hollandaise sauce, and nice bread.
For drinks, Hot tea+milk for me and orange juice for my sister
Awesome pancakes and bacon morning rolls. Awesome location and the place to be to get the american diner vibe. Friendly staff and the space is big enough.
I am a sucker for an American themed diner, I just can't resist. The City Cafe very much goes for that theme with their retro jukebox, red vinyl booths, big milkshakes and burgers. I've always pretty much enjoyed my visits to City Cafe. I've mainly always popped in for drinks but I've had the food a few times now. I do find the food pretty decent but it's never really blown me away. I do think the fry ups are pretty good though and the small size is a decent portion. It can get quite busy during the weekends, so if you want a booth it is better to get in early. They also have a venue which can be booked downstairs. My family actually used it for a charity night a few years back and the staff were great helping us out with that. I always end up finding myself in City Cafe to be honest and I don't think that will change any time soon!
I love how city cafe is themed as an American diner! Ive ate here before and been at night for a few drinks. When I ate there, I got the nachos and a strawberry milkshake, both yum and the nachos were a very generous portion! Saw some other people ordering the breakfasts and they looked great so will be getting that next time! At night for drinks I thought there was a good atmosphere for a Tuesday night!

I went here with some friends from London, firstly amazing atmosphere, the food was amazing! I missed the days of coke floats so I was in my element! As well as be prepared City Cafe, I shall be doing the burger challenge, Adam richmond (MVF) it is on!
Food was ok service was good since the waitress was by her self on the floor. She took all the orders and made the drinks her self. Well done to her. I guess mostly tourists come here for breakfast.
The portions are quite mega which is great if you’re heading there after a healthy gym session! The food lacks a bit of finesse but priced ok and I really appreciate how open they were to substitutions on the Scottish breakfast. Rolls were so huge you could use them as a pillow. Brilliant decor and diner theme. Recommend a visit!
Went for a breakfast on a Friday, I have only been for drinks in the evening so didn't know what to expect.
First of all they offer a gluten free full breakfast (not for me) which was a big plus.
It wasn't very busy, clean and has the diner vibe you'd expect.
Service was fast, didn't want too long for the food.
Portion size was great, the gluten free option didn't come with black pudding/haggis and just came with two extra hash browns instead.
The only downside with the food was the sausages, both sausages had inedible bits of what seemed like bone.
Both ordered a flat white which was surprisingly nice but don't expect black medicine coffee quality.
Surprisingly pricey however coming in at ~£36 for two breakfasts and two coffees. Quality and environment was there but I probably wouldn't go again due to price.
I had an amazing experience at The City Cafe in Edinburgh. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great meal in Edinburgh!

Relaxed, clean , cool
Nice retro vibe, only thing missing was authentic music ❗
Plenty booths, seating, nice old pics n pin ups
Food very nice
Staff were efficient and helpful
I shall return here, it has been a long absence for me
Special mention to choc milk shake 😋❗
Great diner serving good food. Service was great as well. We enjoyed the Veggie Full Scottish Breakfast including the Veggie Haggis 😋
Nicely located at Hunter Square just at a stone's throw from Royal Mile.
We had amazing milkshakes, the staff was great, music could've a been a wee bit quieter. Overall great experience, would recommend!
We did go here for some Breakfast and after that we came back for lunch. Both of the times it was a very good experience, the staff is very friendly and the quality of food is Good! Portions are big, so take in mind that if you just want a snack take a look at the small snack part at the menu.
Slow service but friendly. Amazing Full Scottish breakfast.
The vegetarian full breakfast was interesting though the veggie sausage was tasting like onion rings in a different shape. The Scottish full breakfast was nice. The juice is not fresh. The service is nice. Overall the price is worth the experience.
