I come at Nile Valley once a week for several months to taste my favourite Bary wrap. The staff is very kind and the place simple and cosy. It is also great value for money. I tottaly recommend it!!

Fabulous falafel. This little restaurant looks like a student cafe, but the food quality is a lot better! Lunches feature amazingly fresh falafel in flatbread with hot Nile sauce. These are wonderful - and great value for money.

Ate there in the evening recently and wile the food was good, it was surprisingly pricey. I paid £10 for a main course with rice extra - something you don't expect in a cafe-type restaurant, especially as the main I had was a simple kebab. So, while I'll happily go there again, I think I'll stick to lunchtimes, as it's better value.

Love the wraps here - good selection, lots of veggie and healthy options. They get busy from around half 12 to 2 on a weekday with students from the uni just across the road but they're quick and efficient at serving so you shouldn't have to wait too long. Seating is limited at busy times. In terms of comfort etc, upstairs seating is fine but downstairs is a bit dingy and the toilet, when flushed makes a pretty scary noise! Overall, good healthy and wholesome food at good prices so ideal spot for lunch or a snack

Visited the restaurant for a friend's birthday and it was great! We shared a few starters which were amazing (couldn't tell you which starters we had though, a connoisseur friend ordered the good ones, I knew we had hummus and couscous, but I couldn't tell you which dishes we had!) and we each had our own main course and shared pitta bread and boiled white rice. Everything tasted amazing and the waitress was very friendly and chatted with us like we were old friends. She was more than happy to also give us recommendations when asked.

The only thing I wasn't too sure about was the miscommunication between ourselves and the waitress when we ordered our dishes. I can't complain, everything tasted great, but I ordered the Dojaj Bil Tahini which was not meant to be a spicy dish, but I ended up with a dish that was quite spicy - I think I was given the Dojaj Bil Salsa instead which was a spicy dish. One word of advice: if you can't take spicy dishes or have special dietary requirements, make sure you remember which dish you ordered and if the dish that arrives doesn't seem like what you ordered, always ask.

Other than that, I enjoyed dining at the Nile Valley Cafe and heeding my own advice, I'd go back for another go!

Yummmmm! So worth it! 1. Even though the sitting space is small, it has a super cozy vibe! 2. The flavours are just *chef’s kiss*! And for the price, a real steal 🤌 3. They have meat as well as vegan options! We got the bean and aubergine wraps which were both amazing and so so delicious! 4. Had a cup of latte on the side, which came out of the in-house espresso machine, and was great 🩵 Totally recommend grabbing a early dinner or lunch here! Happy Fooding 🍄

The wraps are not bad and affordably-priced at 5 pounds each. Possibly the best place for wraps in Edinburgh. There’s usually a queue at mealtimes, so be there early if you want to avoid it. There’s more seating space downstairs too. I would recommend bary wrap and samar salad (also a wrap).

Excellent value for money! Only ever got their falafel, havent gotten anything else. Falafel isnt cooked to order, Im usually against this but they are a busy shop. Fries (no chips here) are made to order, crispy and not oily. Sometimes theres a queue, goes to show how many people want to come here. Would come again!

I’ve been here countless times. There wraps are filling, tasty, and healthy, and the service is quick. I tried their main meals, and sadly the quality of those don’t live up to their wraps, but I’m giving them 5 stars regardless as I doubt anyone really orders the mains.

Good, not amazing, falafel-hummus-aubergine wrap, but for less than 5 pounds I would go back again. Spicy sauce has a nice amount of spice to it!

Just had a bary wrap (shredded chicken, vegetables and hummus) for lunch. The portion is generous and also good price, costed me £4.95. Taste is good and flavourful, they will ask spiciness level that you desire. Usually there will be a long queque but don't worry, they prepare customer's order quickly.

My first experience ordering a falafel wrap with aubergine. All the ingredients are homemade and displayed in front of you when you order. The wrap was one of the best I've ever tried! And it's light food, easy to digest and for a few minutes walk you can sit at the Meadows (if weather permits) and enjoy this fantastic Sudanese food.

The best wrap in town. Nile Cafe and Africano Wrap, the shop right beside it are the two cheapest you can find in Edinburgh but also the best when it comes to the taste. The size of the wrap is very fulfilling.
