This place is very nice staff are super friendly. They have a great breakfast selection and coffee is lovely. They also have an unique selection of cocktails
Decent place to eat and drink - food is quick and really tasty for what you get. I recommend the crispy katsu pad Thai noodles. Staff are really friendly and the bar has a decent selection of drinks. A great place to meet friends or have a quick dinner before heading out.
Best cocktails in town! Have been a frequent visitor over the years and it never fails to deliver. Always innovative with their cocktail menu and table service is a bonus. Ordered the alcoholic frappucino. Delicious. Be prepared to queue at the weekends!
Came here for a week late birthday meal with an old friend.
The menu is quirky and lots of fresh new ideas
We had a chicken burger and a normal one can never go wrong along with the platter for two and lot of food for two people but we managed.
The burger tasted of real beef, chips were not frozen and real potatoes and so very thick which were amazing top job.
Platter for two very nice pork belly skewers a new way to use pork belly well done, sweet potatoes fries just right, chicken strips nice made with real chicken, and corn on cob grilled with a sweet sauce just perfect.
Service was great too the waitresses happy and happy to recommend things from the menu and up for a bit of banter with the customers
I would highly recommend this place and I will return with friends
I always expect to hear the closing theme tune to Eastenders whenever I mention Treacle – I just cant seem to say Treacle without putting the Alroit in front of it! (for those that don’t know Cockney Rhyming Slang, Treacle means sweetheart and Alroit is Alright or Okay. Alroit Treacle translates into Okay Sweetheart?)

Treacle is a favourite place of mine whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner; you can always find something utterly delicious here.
Treacle is delightful, a lovely oasis close to where I live. I love its quirkiness and lush soft furnishings. It also has a really hip vibe in the evenings to match the vast easy-drinking cocktail menu.
Previous visits have included visiting for Sunday breakfast. Their French Toast is definitely up there with the best in Edinburgh . A nice stack of gooey egginess although somewhat stingy on the syrup but then again I love a lot of syrup. As you know I love my tea and I have to say that I do love their teapots. They are outstanding (no spillage you see!)
We called in after the cinema looking for a hot drink and a treat. Treacle offered this, although the day we were there, the coffee machine was out of commission so we had suki tea! I had the apple loves mint which was lovely and Ann had the Mango Tango which again hit the spot. The treat, Belgium waffle with nutella and ice cream. It was delicious and enough to share. The nutella was plentiful which meant we had enough for every bite!

Fun is not a word that is often associated with restaurants.
Relaxed is sometimes used, informal occasionally and quirky is usually as close as you will get.
In the case of Treacle I think fun is a perfectly acceptable term.
If you are looking for a more relaxed and slightly different meal to all the competition in the capital, head on down to Treacle, you’ll probably enjoy it!

Treacle is my midweek cheat day treat. It's a good place to catch up with friends whilst sharing a platter and downing a few cocktails and Aperol spritz. Friendly staff, decent prices and great music!
Living just at the bottom of Broughton Street helps when you can just manage to walk in a straight line!
Had a lovely cocktail and salad here. The interior is very different with a cartoony feel but I liked how unique it is and was probably one of the yummiest salads I've had!
Popped in here randomly on a Sunday to get a breakfast/brunch. Very big helping and good value for money. The beans were delicious.
It’s a nice space - don’t know what it would be like at night. The staff member on was really nice and friendly.
The bathrooms are exceptionally clean (despite the blue door for men and the pink for women) - overall a nice vibe and not as busy as some other places for a quick bite to eat.
The food is fresh, modern, and flavoursome. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the cocktails? Incredible and tantalising! I came for a solo dinner and ended up staying most of the night. The atmosphere is a chiller understated cool vibe and the music is a variety of 80s, 90s, and current pop.
It’s a nice place to have a week end brunch with friends. The food is delicious but the portions are small. The staff is fine. The overall is positive and it’s a nice bar in a very central area. Definitely to try if you are nearby!
Nice Scottish breakfast but service a little slow not the fault of the servers as there only seemed to be 2 of them. Never had haggis before but it was really nice ... spicy dryish stuffing texture but tasty. £12 including Latte. Service charge is automatically added on to bill.

A little bit of the beaten paths is the Treacle is nice bar and restaurant which provides a laid back atmosphere. A solid beer selection and and even bigger menu for cocktails, as well as a variety of food comprising two vegetarian options and a really friendly staff - what else could you and for?
I enjoy a great guinness and whiskey sour. Treacle really did the job during my edinburgh bar hop. Andy the bartender who did the cocktails did a fantastic job and was so welcoming. Will definitely make this a regular pit stop
I hopped into this restaurant during my Christmas trip for a quick dinner. Not from the name but the Indian essence provided by this restaurant is at par. We tried lot of Indian food including pav bhaji and everything was intact. So during our 4 day trip we had chance to have food from their thrice. Staff was good and friendly, location was great. I was too busy enjoying food that I forgot to take any pictures. 😁
Good coffee and dog friendly so what more could you want really? Nice comfy sofas and chill atmosphere too. Didn't have any drink drinks as it was 10am but the bar looked well stocked and the drinks menu interesting.
Stopped here after a recommendation from a friend. Just had the soup and bread and a drink but was really nice and cosy. Food as tasty and although not a busy place and a touch out the way it was pleasant enough and would return.
The owner and the manager are really nice, they always seem happy and full of energy, they are always attentive to us when we go there. It's a nice atmosphere and the manager is really funny, he protected me and my friends from some guy with a mustache and a big nose molesting the men.
