Good ambience and staff. Only thing I noticed is that most of the dishes are sweet. There was a spicy chicken which was ended up sweet as well. Spicy asian delicacies without spice is a surprise to me
Went here for a family lunch and haveto say we were blown away with the place, very warm and welcoming and the chioce of food was amazing, just so much ,so much indeed that we will have to return, just to savour the delights of this establishment.
And special mention to the hard working staff always smiling and very attentive, we very much enjoyed this restaurant.
Highly recommended
Pleasantly surprised
We normally go to the Beijing Banquet in Danderhall but we prefer this one!
Our regular buffet restaurant is closed for upgrading so we decided to give this one a go.
The food was fresh, the restaurant staff were quick to clear plates away and were friendly and helpful.
I tried the steak and squid at the hot plate, absolutely delicious. Great choice of starters, mains and deserts. Really is a choice for everyone.
Liked the fact the free juice refill was self service.
The restaurant was cash only but there is a cash machine available at the garage next door.
Toilets were clean although cold.
Had been to Beijing Banquet on a Tuesday afternoon and was good to see that the place was really occupied on a weekday lunch time.
Then i started with the food in there and i had no doubt why there were soo many people in the restaurant. They have wide spread of starters, mains, desserts and everything served was just perfect.
The price is reasonable and the experience is worth every penny. Servers are generous and the ambience is pleasant.
Loved Beijing Banquet.
GREAT FOOD, TERRIBLE SERVICE.....GETTING BETTER............ GOOD POINTS:
Food was excellent. Starters & Main meals were fresh, very tasty, and plenty of options. I have never seen so many prawn dishes. Crispy duck with pancakes were awesome.
BAD POINTS:
Service was shocking. On arrival, we got ignored, plates weren't cleared straight away, the two over weight sour faced waitresses, were the rudest i have came across for a long time. Every time they both went passed my chair, they banged into it, and never once apologised. On leaving know one was there to take our money, bar tender to busy chatting to her pall, and ignored us.
SO OVERAL: We will go back, i hope the service gets better, as it wasn't that busy.

So we have now been 3 times.
The food is still excellent, and there are a lot more staff, so service is getting a lot better.
Mrs Pam Nelson. Had a fantastic evening on the 9th December, it was arranged for my husbands 70th birthday. The premises were spotless, the food was to die for and the Staff were so friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go again.
Thank you all so much for the great service and keeping the secret for us.
The best Chinese buffet I've ever been to. The food is amazing and all you can eat, what more is there to say? Book a table to avoid disappointment.
Great selection of food. Tasted lovely. Lively, busy place. Everything fresh.
Just discovered this place - we'll be back. Everything you would expect in a Chinese Buffet, and more! Some non Chinese food on offer also (pizzas, pasta etc) which might be great for kids (or adults!) if they are not overly keen on the Chinese food. Service was great; food was plentiful, varied, and delicious, and all for £20 including our refillable drinks, which helped keep the drinks cost down.
Very tasty food, warm atmosphere. A bit crowded when I arrived and not same wide range of dishes compared to the other Beijing banquet edinburgh restaurants, but all the dishes I had were lovely, great taste. Will definitely visit again.
Good food, lovely place, very friendly service. Great place for any meal.
Having read some previous reviews I was nervous about what the food would be like. We went for my birthday lunch and arrived at the opening time of 12pm. On arrival we were warmly welcomed. The food was all hot and quickly replaced when it ran out. Options were extensive across starters, mains, rices, European options and puddings. E.g. for European foods there were two pizzas, two pastas, French fries etc. The food was fresh, super tasty and made for a wonderful buffet. The hardest part was slowing the kids down and not speeding through the food! Personally, I would say ignore the negative reviews and enjoy the experience - I will certainly be back!
The food is good and chips have improved a lot as I think they were double cooked. Not actually had chips as good as that at a buffet before. All the Chinese food tasted good that I tried. The desserts looked good but the cakes seem to lack flavour often.
The buffet price keeps going up and is now £20 + £4 for refill, so is expensive. I won't be back for a few years because of this, unfortunately.
A decent selection of food to choose from which was regularly topped up. The area to get your food isn't very people friendly as its very tight in space and with no queueing system it is a free for all and got annoying at times. Staff must've been very busy or there was a staff shortage as we waited a while to be served for drinks and waited for a while for our plates to be cleared, at one point plates did stack up which wasn't great. If only they played some sort of music the "ambience" was pretty dire.
Overall it was OK, would definitely come back again if passing and we can't be bothered to cook.
Visited Beijing Banquet the other week for the first time in a while, the food was great quality for a buffet and was constantly being refreshed.
Will be back again soon!
Fantastic place to come with family and friends I would prefer if they had a kiddy corner to quiet some of the kids down but it's a lottery I suppose
It's like a takeaway but you try every dish , we love it and just 15mins away 😋
