I popped in here for the first time as I was pretty ravenous after a workout and cycle. I ordered the Eggs Florentine and was treated to a huge portion with spinach and peas and a generous helping of pitta bread, a large americano. All very reasonable priced. I will be back again. The service was excellent and staff very friendly. I will be back!
I stopped by for a quick coffee and the staff were very friendly and accommodating(despite my many demands and little tweaks to the coffee) and the price is very reasonable. Nice seating area outside too with a good relaxing view with a small garden.
Outstanding Greek cafe. All the food and atmosphere of being in a greek cafe by a little harbour in the Peloponnese but without the view and the sun. To mix metaphors this is a brilliant oasis on a quiet side road in Edinburgh. Soup, Moussaka and cheese cake all top notch. This web site is the only mystery and lacking in numeracy. The average of the previous 3 reviews is 4.5 not the measly 2.9 stated above.
THE best Greek eating experience in Edinburgh so far. The food is simple and delicious, the aromas wafting through the kitchen is simply mouthwatering. It has great coffee. I suggest anyone to try the Pita Pita with chicken. Great off the grid location for peace of mind and no tourists. A big thumbs up.
Previous visit to the Richmond had been completely underwhelming, but a change in ownership has this place in much better shape. Their menu is Greek, as are most of their patrons. It's friendly, inexpensive and really good.
We concluded by saying: "it’s great to see this place changed for entirely dreary to exuberantly delightful. The welcome is quite wonderful, the food likely to warm your soul, and the atmosphere likely to brighten even the darkest day. I’d strongly recommend a visit."
A lovely cafe with great food (and also a great price)❤️
My very first time having Cous Cous, and this was a good experience. It’s mildly seasoned but still flavorful. There are many veggies and chicken in the rice (but the chicken is quite chewy) Salad is so fresh, I love it so much😻 The pitta bread is also perfect in every single way!
*This is quite a big portion of the meal (with so MANY fries)
This is a good place for reading or working! The cafe is quiet and there are sockets under most of the tables.
Overall, this is a cafe I would definitely recommend!
The place is quite busy but I was always warmly welcomed by the staffs. At the same time it’s surprising how the team manages the whole cafe with a huge variety of menu when they have such a compact kitchen. And my go-to menu, Medium meze, never fails. I regularly crave for their sautéed spinach.
Well, there are reasons if a place is always so bustling😋
Great cappuccino and lots of different varieties. Was actually a nice place to go and sit which isn't too far from Arthur's Seat. Most of the coffee shops I walked past were full of tourists. It was refreshing to find this place for a nice quiet coffee and chill.
Hi All,
We had an amazing and perfect #Sunday lunch here. We ordered meze and spinach borek portions are very big and soo delicious. Well recommended this cafe!! Very good food, service and atmosphere. So lovely staff.
Yummy! Especially love the chicken schnitzel! 😋 I am not sure why they gave potato fries instead of the usual potato chips though. I'd have liked that better.
I cannot recommend enough! They have a lovely variety of food that is delicious and great value for money - so many options too! The staff and owner are all very helpful and friendly - always make you feel at home. The cafe itself is very cozy and clean - by far my favourite place in town. Highly recommend!
They are always packed so I was wondering how good it is. Ordered scottish breakfast and it was good and very fulfilling! Might be a little greasy for me though.. especially for the mushroom and the potato. will try another dish next time
Stopped by this adorable local cafe while visiting Edinburgh for the weekend. The french toast with bacon was delicious! I also ordered the menemen, which didn’t look appealing at first glance but it turned out to be really good & full of flavor!
Richmond Cafe is my favorite comfort cafe nearby the University of Edinburgh campus. They are sometimes busy for very good reason, the coffee is some of the best in town and the food is also great. They server Turkish classics as well as other British foods. My favorite dish is the chicken schnitzel which is super filling and flavorful, fried chicken cutlet with a creamy mushroom sauce. I also love getting their baklava with a coffee.
They have a beautiful family and dog friendly environment, free Wi-Fi and affordable prices. There are also big natural light windows that can be used to enjoy a nice day or people watch while you stay. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and will let you into their cafe with open arms and smile when they see you outside if you become a regular, even if you don’t come in. Thank you Richmond Cafe for being the star of the main campus area of Edinburgh and one of the best cafes in town!
We enjoyed our breakfast, I recommend to order the turkish sucuk. The portion was generous, so it is a heavy breakfast.
