So freaking accommodating, and the food was so good. Fish and chips was great, fries combo was interesting but not bad. Overall a really great experience especially for walking in with a large group of people.

Wonderful, friendly atmosphere with great food and drink. Izzy, Dan, and Zoë we’re running the pub when we arrived. All three were super welcoming and gave us quite a bit of their time to answer our many questions about Edinburgh (we were visiting on holiday).

Great atmosphere,great service, coffee is greeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaat:) Daniel was behind bar a credit to the pub and deserves a pay rise...hint hint :) will come again :),have returned for lunch ,Whitby scampi ...was very good ,liked the use of sea salt on the chips ,also liked was a good serving of tartar sauce,in past alot of restaurants including Whitby stint on it ,asked for extra tartar sauce wasn't required,think I am a fair judge on this as I'm a Yorkshire lad (ok old man :))

Anastasia was a delight amazing service and with a smile can’t ask for more!
Scotland game with be on the tv tonight also beats most pubs!
but for a day in the sun there’s not many bars in edinburgh that can say that!!

The moment you step in the pub smells *CLEAN*. No sticking to the floors. Pay up front so you can leave when you want. Enjoyable music at a moderate volume. Self-serve water available. Would recommend just to stop in for a quick meet up or to plan your Edinburgh trip.

The fish and chips is amazing! But be sure to order before 19:00, because that's when they close the kitchen!! Music is really loud, which was a bit annoying for us as we couldn't hear one another.

This was a great find, I hadn't planned on coming in here but I am happy I did because it was brilliant.
Great selection of beer on draught and cask! Food menu looked fab! And staff was very friendly.
Bathrooms were spacious and clean.
Loved it!

Lovely old pub, lots of drinks available and the food is good and moderately priced. I had the chicken and leek pie and the macaroni and cheese, it was delicious. The couches are comfortable and there are lots of seats available. If it's busy the food will take a while to come out so make sure you get in early.

Very nice pub, renewed and with a good vibe. The beer is not expensive and you can have an affordable lunch for 12.99£. The service is fast.

Horrible service from Polina and the old woman with orange hair and glasses. A smile doesn't hurt! Wish I never walked in. The food was ok, but luke warm when served, also it took 43 mins to get the food, even though not hi else went out of the kitchen at that time...

Went there a couple of times with my friends to watch football game and have a few beers. There is a few tvs inside and a big screen where people can watch live sport. The pub offers great food and deals that change every day. If you are lucky you can get a doulbe beef burger with chips and pint for about 6 quid. Once you order you will not regret as you get a big plate with food and a pint for a reasonable price. Really liked that place.

Shakespeare- John Barras. I can say its ok place. Though, they have large selection of booze, food is not as nice as expected. I went there with my friend to watch a game and decided to have dinner and ordered for chicken burger which they have in their meal deal ( with free drinks). The burger wasn't tasty as I expected. interior of the pub nice. They have large screen for the main game and other small screen at other various places. Its place where you can enjoy your games with drinks.
