In an age (and a neighbourhood) that is trending towards chains and 'convenience', 181 stands head and shoulders over the rest not only with exquisite produce and food (and my Italian in-laws would attest to this too) the customer service is a real pleasure to recieve and be around. An absolute gem.

Absolutely beautiful shop even thow i might be biased as i am related to owners but the store has lovely products that you could spend ages trying. I definitely recommend the can of pear and apple sparkling water its delicious. Definitely will be visiting again next time im in Edinburgh to try more of the goodys like the peanut butter i bought that is pure 100% made of peanut and you can tell by the lovely taste. Great service from mike and his staff and full of knowledge on all different types of products that they sell. Also have a lovely wee cafe at back that due to covid has 2 tables so make sure you book to avoid disappointment and enjoy a lovely coffee when your there.

When past this premise, and the window intrigued me. I popped in to buy some of the mince pies a saw in the window and was captivated by the cheese and meats! I sat down to a small cheese and meat platter. Devine. Finished off with a delicious latte, I went in my merry way content. Mince pies were epic too!

A fabulous deli, they have a beautiful range of cheeses, meats and other fresh produce, also a vast range of packaged products and gift ideas for the foodies in your life. There's a small café section where you can sample some of the most delicious treats in Edinburgh, or get a light lunch. I'd highly recommend!

Great wee deli with a fantastic selection of foods. Can't recommend the sausage rolls highly enough! Lots of interesting drinks, too, and the owners are both passionate about what they do and very friendly.

This was a super little find which I can across on a walking tour in Edinburgh called ‘a wee taste of Edinburgh. Such a lovely family run business and great fresh products. Little seating area for you to sit in and have a coffee which I prefer to look after small local business rather than the big chains. Owner took the time to go over the history of the shop and how they came to owning it which was a lovely touch. Black pudding scotch eggs are unreal .... everyone must try these.

I absolutely loved the Scotch egg tasting we did in this fantastic deli, so much so I bought 4 different kinds! We came in as part of Karly’s A Wee Taste of Edinburgh walking food and drink tour. The staff were all really friendly and knowledgeable about their products. I even bought packs of delicious Ocelot chocolate as gifts for my family!
