Amazing food . Excellent service. I really don’t have much to contribute here since the food was very good. If you are into Japanese food a must try. Sushi specially the California roles were totally different and melt in your mouth. The soft shell crab is something one must try.
Umi is close to the university‘s gs campus, which is convenient for me. It's my favorite ramen place in Edinburgh! I fancy spicy food so I always order the Spicy Fried Chicken Ramen! Highly recommended!
One of the best japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food is so authentic and delicious, there wasn’t one dish my partner and I didn’t love! The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and the service was so good! I would definitely recommend booking a table, because it can get quite busy. It is also a bit expensive, but it is so worth the price.

The price is not too bad, similar to Maki & Ramen, but the food quality is better and outstanding.
The staffs are very lovely and friendly, they accept walk-in but would also recommend booking a table for safety 😊
I frequent here often and brought my friends visiting from Belfast here and safe to say they thoroughly enjoyed it. The ramen was perfectly spicy and we had a variety of sashimi. I got to try the Wagyu croquette that is new on their menu and it was delicious! Definitely worth a try especially with the sauce. The service was appropriately timed and welcoming definitely a great dinner spot.
We had wagyu mince stonebowl, kinoko tempura, iberico katsu, tako karrage, and sweet corn shichimi. This is the best Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh ever. The customer service is really good and the food is amazing. Gonna recommend 👍👍👍
Very tasty and lovely service. I enjoyed the spicy karaage ramen and the crunchy soy roll the most but everything was super delicious. The sashimi tastes super fresh and flavourful. The decor and the music also adds a nice ambience. Highly recommend.

One of the best japanese restaurant i have tried so far. Would totally recommend this place, the service is absolutely spot on, allowing you to experience Japanese hospitality even out of Japan. The food does not disappoint as well the sashimi was really fresh and well prepared especially the scallop sashimi which is my favourite one in the sashimi set we ordered. The cozy atmosphere adds to the overall dining experience, creating a perfect setting for enjoying Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended!
